TDF in TORONTO:
When we talk about DHOL Classes in Toronto. I, feel TDF stands for The DumDrummers Foundation. They claim that they go by "Syllabus" and "Dhol Beat like Mummy Daddy". In my opinion they are more sort of marketing guys than DHOL Players or instructors and above all they claim they are the best.

What Syllabus man this is DHOL not Tabla...!

I, personally know students who were not happy with their coaching and now they are learning from other DHOL instructor.

There are other options folks in GTA area go on the internet and explore them.

I, have come accross amazing instructor and he really knows his stuff. Good DHOL players don't advertize themself like TDF-Toronto guys are doing from day one.

Take care and all the best for finding new instructor. I, could have posted the persons name from where I am learning right now but this post is not to advertize for anybody specific.

I really hope some Daler Mehndi fan can help me. I'm looking for a song of his which was on a remix CD. I'm not that good at the lines but they go something like "sada dil kadkay, jutho mornia..." something like that. Someone said it was from the Khauff movie but I looked on the web and that is not the same Mehndi song. PLEASE! it;s a very fast song.

Any idiot that says that bhangra is a hindu thing as well as a sikh. You're probably a bit right. It is a chamar hindu thing, but not a khutri hindu thing, because if it was then they would know how to dance to it. Anyone can listen to it, but you hindi speakers ain't a part of it! First you wanted to disown punjabi and now you want our music!
WELL CRY ALL YOU WANT! YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE FACTS!

For Tejinder Singh :

Hi there,
Gurinder Khosa recommended I contact you - I'm a young Scottish piper currently playing with a Punjabi folk singer and Dhol/dholki player in Glagow, Scotland. We're interested to find out more about 'Nachaar', the dance involving bagpipes.

Do you know where I could find more information about how the dance is performed - ideally even where I could find recordings of the music that accompanies it.

All the best,
Donald Lindsay
