Muslim Hindu Sikh Faith - Sufi Darvesha di Kulli - Talking to God
WHY THIS DISCUSSION?
Essentially Punjabis living anywhere have compassionate hearts and their spiritual base is very solid where there are many layers of spirituality including extremely refined ages and periods like Sufism; and later on the new faiths have impressed many Punjabis; which is fine, but the problem starts when some elements use the religion to separate people.
What one should always remember is that RELIGIONS are not overall cultures. Our basic and founding culture is exactly the same and upon that basis we have labelled ourselves as Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Jains etc.
Essentially and inherently we are Punjabis all of us.
The different practice of faith does not mean that we should part our ways and kill all who does not believe what we believe in. The basic culture being the same, religion was used as powerful weapen and our Punjabi culture was shattered and we became a very divided people.
This division has deepened in last few decades but once again if we explore our foundations, our nature and our life, we will be able to re-discover ourselves and probably see clearly that we are exactly the same people.
The similarities among us are more common than the differences.
The purpose of these discussions is NOT to preach nor sing songs of a particular faith but to understand, know and attempt to see inwardly and feel the founding basis of all of us; the common thread which binds us all - Punjabi Culture....
Trust me by simply saying my religion is better than yours - it does not do any good to either me or you or any of the faiths. It simply makes us intolerant, naive and more claustred (enclosed in walls) and narrow.
We need to amplify, to widen our horizon, our scope, our view point and try to know what others do and why similarities and differences the other faith has; and then try to analyze and find common bond among us.
Trust me if you really really dig a bit deeper, you will find that ALL Punjabis irrespective of their color of skin, are one quite fused race and we are ONE people.
There is nothing wrong in having a faith but it does not mean we should forget to behave with each other.
Our forefathers became intolerant in 1940s when some of our foolish and narrow minded and rather egoistic leaders divided us by instilling poison of hate and arousing our basic animal instincts : THE results : we killed each other and in this fratericized aggression we lost almost 10% of our people. Entire families were ruined and destroyed.
WHY?
Because we became intolerant, naive, and like sheeps followed the wolves.
WHAT YOU CAN DO?
What you can really do is to know your other brothers and try to see what commonalities we have. Try to be tolerant, and NOT force upon anyone your faith.
YOU Can only give love to someone and get love in return as hate is not a gift to give but an unnecessary load on our soul which we should abandon immediately and clean ourselves from the sin of hating.
Your views and experiences on finding the truth are invited and wish you the best in your quest for knowing your roots.
