Dear chauhdary khawar kasana,
Kasanas are very much Gujjars here in India. They dominate the region of Bhind and Morena in MP and are called Gujjar Thakurs there and 24 villages are here in UP adjoining Delhi also. Where in Delhi they have lot of qualified people like Engineers Doctors Advocates etc. in MP they are very rich families having transport business and farm lands.If you travel from Agra to Bombay (AB Highway) in MP you will see almost every third truck owned by Kansana (Kasana)brothers.
There may be some jats using this surname since jats mostly use the name of their village as surname and Gujjar mostly keep the name of places either in their caste or surname otherwise Kasanas are mostly Gujjar only. Moreover jatland••••• is most unauthentic website and you should look somewhere else for right information.

Dear Sanjeev Nagar or Bhati or Vijairaj,
I have seen your posting on website Chawradotcom ( A gujjar website in Guest column) also in exactly the same format with same spelling mistakes and, including same distorted facts about history in general and western UP in particular. Only thing there you did it in the name of Vijai Raj. The way you have distorted the facts against Gujjars and in favour of Jats it does not require an Einstein to conclude that to which caste you belong to. At the speed you are changing your surname it conludes that you are born to a woman with many husbands and not really able to decide to which caste you belong to and i,e, Ajat (Without caste). Gone are the days when people were being called as ajaat and now a days with the advent of new technology you can go for genetic tests and find out your real father from many husbands of your mother that will relieve you from the pain of being called as ajaat and you may find your a real Gujjar surname.
How cheap you are.

During Mihirbhoj the rulers of Delhi were Tanwars (Read Gujjar Tanwars since Rajput word was not there in dictionary at that point of time.) and were revenue collectors of Gujar King Mihir Bhoj Pratihar whose capital was Kannauj which is presently in UP. That is the reason we still find a cluster of Gujjar Tanwar villages near Meharauli and local MLAs won from that particular assembly seats were always Gujjar Tanwars including Mr. Balram Singh Tanwar and Mr. Braham Singh Tanwar. The last king of this Dynasty was Anang Pal Tanwar in whose name the village Anang Pur is situated near Surajkund. Mr. Avtar Singh Bhadana (MP) And Mr. Kartar Singh Bhadana ( A minister in Haryana Government) belong to the same village. The Suraj Kund was also built By Suraj Pal Tanwar of this dynasty. The last king of this Dynasty Anang Pal Tanwar the Maternal Grand Father of Prithviraj Chauhan had no son and during one of his trip to Haridwar to have a bath in Holy Ganges he left his capital in the hands of Prithviraj Chauhan ( the son of his daughter)who on his return did not allow him enter his kingdom and with 400 of his trusted body guards Anang Pal retired to Chambal valley but his followers used to engage Prithviraj Chauhan in Guerilla warfare but could never get back their kingdom back from Prithviraj Chauhan. After the end of Prithviraj Chauhan rule they kept hitting at at Delhi by looting the Sarkari Kazanas and probably this is the reason the Chambal valley is still infested by dacoits who like to be called as baghis (Rebels).
Presently the Tanwars (Tomars, Toonwars) are called as Rajputs Thakurs and Pratihars (Padihars,Padiyar,Parihars)) are called as gujjars in that region.

I am also a Gurjar. Let me tell gujjar is one of the largest tribal community all over the world. Gurjars are in Islam, Hindu, Sikh etc. Their origin is Geogia (Gurjia). They came to Indian Sub-Continent during 5th or 6th Century. They ruled Central, Western and other parts of India. They are very patriotic people. Muslim gurjars in India and Pakistan are nomadic, pastoral: take care of buffalows, cows, goats etc. Most of gurjars are illiterate hence they have no political power in these countries. They do not like business. They like military : a profession of fighters. You will be surprising to know that ZERO was invented by a Gujar Scholar during Gurjar Pratihar period during 5th Century AD.

Their Gotra (sub castes) are : Khataana, Awaana, Bhadaana, Kasaana, Checheye, Naagar, Goria, Laadi, Bainsla, Bhaati,Chandela, Mukul, and lots of Gotra (in all nearly 300). My request to all gurjars : They should dedicate themselves in Education, Sports, Business and Military NOT in Grazing of buffalows / cows / goats, etc.

There is one person who says that he (Panwar) is from Western UP (India). Sometimes he writes as Sajiv Nagar or else. Beware of him. He is Jaat. His father was beaten up by gurjars. He is bast.... boy of this Jaat. These people are jeleous of Gujars. that is why he becomes gurjar and write like this.

hi,dear myself brijesh gurjar pursuing my B.E( mechanical) frm mits gwalior (mp).Its too good to read so many good things abt gujjar community .i am too much concerned abt our community . as we all know that we r constitutes the 10pecent of indian population still we have no identification we r considered as thieves & rude people . imost of the gujjars r farmer but they r illitrate . i also belongs to a village in agra ( up india ) .

i felt to much un comfortable abt the facts given in the books abt our community.

there r many places which r named after the glorious tribe the gujjar,the arab scholars mention this tribe as the great power of Hindusthan and discuss this tribe in great length. And r mentioned as Aljuzr.
as regard as Gujjar land is concerned many places for example Gujrat(state in india),gujrat(in pakistan) ,gujranwalla,,gujargar, gujjarkasi,and innumerable places including small Town ,villages etc r named after this tribe.
Rajputana is name given by Britishers, but was apart of gujjar rashtara(Gujarat ) previously. And as for as punjab is concerned it is land 5 rivers inhabited by many tribes and does not belongs to 1 particular one tribe.
Above all gujjar, jatt ,rajputs r basically people from same stock as mentioned by TODS,SMITH and many other scholars, we can say gujjar jatt rajputs r cousins and r not different from each other.

It is definitely not in Punjab, because Jatt are the true Punjab people and Rajputs are the true people of Rajputana, according to you AND historical facts.

I went through ur reply ur discussion r more emotional than factual .i being a history student my tell u that the rajput &jats have no standing in front of Gujjars as far as history is concerned, the gujjar were rulers of the medieval India period when this community was at its peek for e.g gurjar pratihar, chalukyas etc at that time there is no mention of jats or rajputs in any historical records.
These people were freedom loving people who never bowed in front of any one.The condition of gujjar deteriorated when these people during the invasion of mughals went towards jungle rather surrendering their daughters & independence unlike rajputs. As far as jats r concerned they have no history these people came in prominence only during Aurangzebs period as a revolting farmers and little bit during british rule period. Jat and rajputs openly side with the britishers and consequently enjoyed there patronage on account of infidelity with the nation &its people .

in our indian punjabs....we are 7-10 lakhs in numbers
in our side lot of gujjars have gone abroad like canada,US

and also i am know various palyers at inter-varsity, inter-state level who are doing proud for our community but they are not able to get into national teams

I think western UP have strong castism thats why they feel separate from jaats

in punjab we gujjars an rana's are at par with jats and rajputs

hey sanjeev i dont know the situation with indian gujjars but pakistani gujjars are alhamdulillah well established we are pretty much represented in all major fields including government as the current national assembly speaker is a gujjar. we share land with jat, rajput with equality and no discrimination for other as all three are aware of the fact that they have the same historic background.

(I am Hindu GUJJAR(Panwar)from Western U.P. India. We are here in a very good population and are rich and strong farmers.I do'nt know how some gujjars in Pak are saying that they are in very poor conditions? )

Well guys I am also a Gujjar and let me tell you some real truth about gujjars in Western U.P. We are in a very bad shape. Our majority of population still lives below the poverty line. And we are considered as backward classes in India. Caste like Jats and Rajputs do not allow us to sit with them as they consider us as real backward caste.

Our Role in Farming:

As far as gujjars farming background in western U.P is concerned the average land a gujjar boy has in West U.P is 9 Acres which is not haif of as compaired to Jats and Rajputs. In India gujjars are considered as thieves as they used to steal cows and Buffaloes. Some gujjars in Noida (U.P) are rich as they have got the compensation because their land has been acquired by govt. The real farmers in Nothern India are Jats. As they dominate in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, West U.P., Delhi.

Our Fighting Skills:

Another imporatant facts about our fightting skills. We are reqesting Inidian Govt to make an Army Regiment in our caste name but it has been denied by the govt. However Rajputs and Jats were invited by Britishers to Join Indian Army and they have their own Regiment. Also note that even in Kargil these two regiments played a major role in winning that war. Please note that real fighters of India are: first is Rajputs, Jats, Maratha, Sikh. This is real fact that these caste use to include Gujjars in their army to take care of their animals.

A well known Indian Army general from Raj Rifles has said that Gujjars cannot become fighters as they can only fight with buffaloes not with armed mens. Some people in U.P says that previously gujjars used to do stealing and now they are doing kidnapping. This is the image we have. Only because we do not realize that we are really behind the mainstream in India. Castes like Jats and rajputs have really done lot of progress in all the fields. I am telling these facts to all of you as I am an Historian. Let me tell you that Western U.P is dominated by Jats and their leader Ajit Singh. and Rajasthan is dominated by Jats and Rajputs, Haryana only by jats, Punjab only by Jats. U.P by Rajputs and Yadav, Bihar by Yadav, Himachal by Rajputs, M.P by Rajputs. I do not understand which part of India do we dominate. We are in majority in kashmir only but in bad shape as Indian army treat us very badly.

Our Contribution in Politics:

We do not have any existence in Indian Politics except Rajesh Pilot however Rajputs has given Prime Minister like V.P Singh, current President and they have number of Cabinet Minister's and Chief Minister's. Jats had their PM Ch Charan Singh and also Fisrt Vice PM of India Devi Lal and also Gyani Jail Singh as President. What do we have?

Contribution in history:

Our contribution in History is nearly zero as compaired to Rajputs. Rajputs showed the great resistence in war with Mughals. Rajputs also ruled at lots of States in India. Rajputs ruled Rajastahn, Himachal, M.P, Maharashtra for atleast 50 years. So are Jat also as they also have their Bharat Pur estate. Jat Raja Todar Mal ruled U.P, Haryan and Delhi. Jat Raja ranjit Singh ruled Punjab. I do not know which part of India did we rule.

Our Role in Cinema:

This role is still we can't think off. However Rajputs have ChandraChur Singh, Preety Zinta, RajKumar, RajKumar Santoshi and many more. Jats have Dharmendra, Sunny , Bobby Deol. Mahima Chawdhry, Arjun rampal, Esha Deol, Malika Sehrawat, Himanshu malik and many more.

Our role in Sports:

Everybody says we are tough guys but I do not know why we are not in Sports. However Rajputs have Yuvraj Singh in Cricket, and 3 players in Indian Hockey Team. Jats have Sehwag, Nehra, harbajan, Kapil Dev and Ajay ratra in cricket and 4 players in Hockey Team like Gangan Sjit Singh and Jugraj Singh. Jats also have the greatest Indian Werstler Dara Singh.

Contribution in Crime:

We have given lot of criminals like Satveer Gujjar, Mehendra Foji, Mahendra Bhati and madan Bhaiya. even most of these guys were fixed single handedly by D.P Yadav.

And now the undisputed criminal of Western U.P are jatan Sirohi, Rakesh Hasanpuria, Sushil Mooch all these guys are Jats. We are not even in crime also.

I do not undersatand where our community is going. Let us realize that we are small community in India and have our own limitations. All our criminals were crushed by either jats cops or by some other criminals.
Situation is not same with Rajputs and Jats criminals. they are given lot liberty. Our MLA from khekra (U.P) is saving himself from the cops and do not go out of the village Zavli and all the time looking for Jat Leader Ch Ajit Singh support.
Friends I also love my caste however I just tried to bring some hard truth about Gujjars in front of everyone as we are not ready to accept these truth. Let us except these truth and start building our strength the way Rajputs and Jats did. I wish all the best to all of you.
