The 19th century neo-Brahmanist historical themes and propaganda were
designed for the purpose of inventing a new proud elitist identity and
history for Orthodox Caste Hindus (Brahmins/Banias - 7%) and for furthering
their political and imperialistic ambitions in a ONE NATION - to be
naturally ruled and dominated by the "superior" Brahmanists. However, the
dateless and placeless fantasies and mithya of neo-Brahmanism constructed
to promote these contentions do injustice to the most basic known and
verifiable facts of southasian history:
1) Southasia has historically been a multi-national/cultural/ethnic/
linguistic region, like Europe or the middle-east. There has never
been a ONE NATION or country in southasia. A few short regional
empires arose, crumbling under their own weight within a few decades
(e.g. Mauryan Empire, lasted 92 years).
As a historical/political entity, Winston Churchill likened it to an
imaginary line like the equator: "India is merely a geographical
expression. It is no more a single country than the equator."
2) The fantasy of southasia as a "One Hindu Nation" under Brahmanist
rule never existed. For example, the oldest northwest region of
southasia - Punjab - was politically unified to the rest of
subcontinent less than 10% of its known 3300 years history (that
too under Buddhist and Muslim regimes) prior to annexation in 1847.
3) Major periods of the historically separate Punjab region (northwest):
a) Vedic Period of Saptha Sindhva (1500-500 BC)
b) Gandharan Buddhist (400 BC-900 AD)
Gandhara constituted the present day regions of eastern
Afghanistan and Punjab. The region formed the hub of the
silk trade routes and was economically, religiously and
culturally well connected to central asia, China, the middle
east and southasia. Scholars came from all over the known
world to study Gandharan Buddhism, philosophy, sciences, and
arts at international centers of learning and commerce situated
at Jalandhara, Moga, Taxila, Sialkot, Kabul and Balkh
(E.Punjab, W.Punjab and Afghanistan)
c)Post Buddhist (post 900 AD): Influx of Gangetic/Malabari
Brahmanism from south (Shankarcharya of Malabar) and Islam
from north. Local development of Punjabi Sufism and Sikhism
(11-18th century) which are threads of continuity with th
region's relatively egalitarian and humanistic Gandharan
spiritual and cultural traditions and heritage.
4) The term "Hindusthan" was first used by a 12th century AD Afghan
dynasty of Muhammad Ghori who dubbed his new subjects "Hindus".
Prior to this era, no one in any region of southasia had ever used
these terms to define themselves.
5) There is no mention of either of these terms in "ancient"
Brahmanical books (oldest of which do not predate the 11th century;
also the oldest "Brahmanical" temples are all post Buddhist, after
8-9th century A.D.). Ironically, two of the three core concepts of
the Poorbia Brahmanist imperialistic program of "Hindu and
Hindusthan" are borrowed from post-12th century Muslim (Afghan and
Mogul) regimes.
6) Buddhism mixed with Saka (Indo-Scythian) religious practices (e.g.
sun worship) comprised the dominant religious influence (Gandharan
Buddhism) in Punjab and the northwest for almost 1300 years prior
to 900 A.D. Buddhism was also dominant in other regions prior to
8-9th century.
7) Brahmanist propaganda contends that their despised "lower caste"
shudras and Dalits ("inferior lower castes" - 80% of "Hindus") gave
up egalitarian Buddhism for the chains of Brahmanism (Hinduism)
voluntarily during 8-10th century AD to live under a new Brahmanical
Hindu order and law system granting them nil legal, human, social,
religious rights and dignity and considered them "too polluted" to
be allowed into Brahmin temples and read Brahmanical scriptures.
Foreign travelers from China and Tibet (e.g. Huen Tsang,
Sharmasvamin) of the time and Brahmanical texts themselves contradict
the peaceful conversion of Buddhist India to Brahmanical India
assertion (e.g. the "Sankara-digvijayam" text of the 14th century
records that Suddhanvan "issued orders to put to death all the
Buddhists from Ramesvaram to the Himalayas"). Indeed, the
extirpation of Buddhism in southasia occurred through a Brahmanical
policy of systematic genocide and terror. After the Brahmanists
gained religious influence over southasian ruling groups between
8-11th century, the majority Buddhist masses were terrorized,
pillaged and raped into giving up the Buddha and Buddhism by
organized gangs and their temples, universities, institutions and
property seized. They were then ground into "Shudra" and
"untouchables" castes after being politically, religiously and
economically disempowered.
8) Even the most revered Buddhist monument (Buddh-Gaya) where Lord
Buddha departed for Nirvana is a disputed Buddhist-Brahmin site
and the Casteocracy's Supreme Court has failed to issue its verdict
after over 50 years!
9) In the northwest and north, the Brahmanists have almost never formed
the ruling class over any known period of history. The recorded
rulers over 3500 years of known history have been drawn from the
followings groups and their descendants: British, Sikhs/Jats/
Rajputs, Afghans, Moguls, Indo-Scythians (Sakas), Bactrian Greeks
and Vedics.
10)From geographical information in the RigVeda, the Vedic Period
(1500-500BC) was confined to the northwest (Saptha Sindhva:
Punjab/Sindh). The hyms tell that the Vedic peoples worshiped
non-Brahmanical Gods (Indra, Varuna, Mitra), ate cows, elected
their chiefs, and drank liqor and called the people living to the
south in the gangetic region "Dasyas"! Moreover, main Gangetic
religious texts (e.g. Puranas) like the Mahabharta and
VarnaAshramDharma of Manu "forbids Brahmins" from even going to
Punjab and depict dark Dravidian Gods like Shiva and Krishna
fighting and defeating Vedic Aryan gods like Indra. Despite the
racial complexes developed by Poorbia Brahmanists during British
rule, there is overwhelming evidence of Brahmanism (Hinduism)
being of Dravidian origin from the gangetic region (Gangasthan).
11)Since their creation in the late 19th and early 20th century,
Poorbia Brahmanist organizations (e.g. Arya Samaj, RSS) have been
actively involved in spreading anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh propaganda
to polarize, fragment, subvert and communalize Punjabi society and
to create a sense of inferiority among Punjabis by erasing,
distorting, marginalizing and degrading Punjabi history, culture
and language.
Bhiya infiltration organizations and the Indian regime have been
brainwashing Punjabis to disown their ancient Punjabi language
and cultural heritage and accept the Poorbias' "superior Aryan
language and culture" (e.g. Hindi extracted from Sanskritized
Urdu in the 19th century; Urdu developed as a Mogul court language
from modifications and mixtures of the local khari-boli dialect
spoken in the Delhi region with Persian and Arabic).
Plain facts supported by the RigVeda tell, however, that the Vedic
civilization of Saptha Sindhva was a Punjabi civilization and, by
historical logic, Punjabiyat is necessarily the most direct and
authentic living offspring of the region's ancient Vedic cultural
and linguistic roots. Moreover, the eastern gangetic heartland is
not only historically a separate region, but geographically resides
over 1500 miles to the southeast of the Saptha Sindhva country.
Amazingly, the Indus valley civilization (pre-2000 BC), the Vedic
civilization (1500-500BC) and the Gandharan Buddhist civilization
(400BC-900AD), followed by development of Punjabi Sufism and
Sikhism (12-18th century AD), all transpired on the soil of the
Punjab and yet according to Brahmanist historical dogma,
the caste-based Gangasthani Brahmanical culture, society and
history is "superior" to Punjabi culture, history and language
- a product of its civilizations and eras stretching over 3500
years of known and verifiable history!
12) Political control over the northwest subcontinent post 500 BC
(Gandharan period) was primarily in the hands of Sakas (Scythians)
and their descendents who mainly patronized Buddhism prior to 9th
century AD. Based on analysis of coins, inscriptions, archeological
finds and early Indian/Buddhist/Chinese/Greek/Persian manuscripts
dating back to 500 BC, historians and ethnographers (e.g.
Cunningham, Tod, Rapson, Ibbetson, Elliot, Ephilstone, Dahiya,
Dhillon, Banerjea, Sharma, Sinha, Shrava, Puniya etc.) have shown
that the traditional agrarian and artisan communities (e.g.
Jats/Gujars/Tarkhans/Khatris/Rajputs/Lohars/Yadavs etc.) of the
entire northwest are the descendants of Scythian tribes from central
Asia (an aggressive and expansionist old Iranian speaking culture)
who settled north-western southasia in successive waves between 5th
century B.C. to 5th century AD. Sociological and ethnological
information collected in colonial censuses shows that the
majority (+65%) of the population of the northwest ("Sakasthan"
including Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, northern Maharashtra and
western UP) is of Saka origin. Terms like "Sakasthana" appear
on ancient Saka inscriptions found as far as Mathura in western
Uttar Pradesh (formerly, United Provinces).
Major dynasties/rulers of Punjab and the northwest of Saka
origin include Porus (4th century BC), Mauryas, Azes, Azilises,
Vima Kadphises, Soter Megas, Maues, Kanishka, Rudradaman, . . .
Harshavardhan, AnangPal, JaiPal (11th century AD). The demise of
the Mogul-Rajput empire in the 17th and early 18th century was
due largely to the Saka political revival in the west and northwest
as expressed by the rise of Maratha, hindu Jat and Sikh power under the
leadership of Gokhla, Shivaji, Churuman, Suraj Mal, Banda Bahadur,
Bhagel Singh, Ranjit Singh, etc.
While the plains facts of history clearly contradict the supremacist and
hegemonic claims Brahmanists began making on southasia during the
19th century, this historical quackery and the elitist neo-Brahmanist
identity (the "superior Aryans") and chauvinistic socio-political doctrines
derived from it have been the founding ideology and the "historical
consciousness" of the new Indian Brahmanist Order.
I want to know what exactly was the "punjabi
suba"
problem....or the story of punjab between 1947 to
1966 when it was divided and the following
conflicts
with neighbouring states (like chandigarh
etc.)....and how this created the problem of
millitency in Punjab cananyone help??????
The all India National Congress met Lahore in the year 1929 and fixed complete independence as its political goal. One day prior to the meeting of the National Congress, the Sikhs had taken out a 500,000 strong procession with veteran Baba Kharak Singh leading on elephant back. It was most impressive spectacle of human congregation that put the Congress show into shame and shade. It was on this occasion that Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Motilal Nehru and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru went to meet Baba Khark Singh at his place on the Chauburji Road and gave the Sikhs a solemn assurance that after India achieves political freedom no constitution shall be framed by the majority community unless it is freely acceptable to the Sikhs. This promise was then reduced into a formal Policy Resolution of the All India Congress Committee. Afterwards this policy resolution was repeatedly reiterated, officially and demi-officially, throughout the period upto August 1947, and it was never officially repudiated till 1950 when the present constitution was framed. The trusting Sikhs, who in their daily prayer, extoll keeping faith as the noblest of human virtues, placing complete reliance in this solemn undertaking given to them by the majority community, resisted and refused all offers and proposals made to them by the British and the other people - the Muslims, whom we now prefer to call the Muslim League - proposing to accord the Sikhs a sovereign or autonomous status in the areas constituting their ancestral homeland between the River Ghaggar and the River Chenab. In the year 1932, at the time of the second Round Table Conference, the British Government through Sardar Bahadur Shivdev Singh, then a member of the Indian Secretary of State's Council, made an informal proposal to the Sikhs that if they dissociate finally with the Congress movement, they would be given such a decisive political weightage in Punjab, as would lead to their emergin a third independent element in India and the British transfer power to inhabitants of this subcontinent. Master Tara Singh promptly rejected the tempting offer. In the month of July, 1946, the India Congress Working Committee met Calcutta, which reaffirmed the assurance already given to the Sikhs, and in Press Conference held on the 6th Jult there, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru spelt the concrete content of this solemn under-taking in the following flowery words "The brave Sikhs of the Punjab entitled to special consideration. I nothing wrong in an area and a set up in the North wherein the Sikhs can experience the glow of freedom." In these words, an autonomous state to the Sikhs, within India, was promised. In the early winter of 1946, Cabinet Mission, while at Delhi communicated to the Sikhs through the Sardar Baldev Singh that if the Sikhs determined not to part company with India, the British Parliament, in their solicitude for the Sikh people, prepared to so frame the Independence Act of India, that in respect of the Sikh Homeland, wherever these areas might eventually go, in Pakistan or India, no Constitution shall be formed such as does not have the concurrence of the Sikhs. But Sardar Baldev Singh, in consultation with the Congress leaders, summarily rejected this offer, which went even beyond assurances given by the majority community in 1929 and in 1946 by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru in Calcutta. In April 1947, Mr. Jinnah, in consultation with certain most powerful leaders of the British Cabinet in London, offered to the Sikhs, first through Master Tara Singh and then through the Maharaja of Patiala, a sovereign Sikh state comprising areas lying in the west of Panipat and east of the left bank of the Ravi river on the understanding that this State then confederates with Pakistan on very advantageous terms to the Sikhs. But Master Tara Singh summarily rejected this attractive offer. The Maharaja of Patiala declined to accept it in consultation with Sardar Patel and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. In the month of May, 1947, precisely on the 17th May, Lord Mountbatten, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Nawab Liaqat Ali Khan and Sardar Baldev Singh, flew to London on the invitation of the British Cabinet, in search of final solution of the Indian communal problem. When the Congress and the Muslim League failed to strike any mutual understanding and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru decided to return to India, the British Cabinet leaders conveyed to Sardar Baldev Singh that if he stays behind, arrangements might be made: "So as to enable the Sikhs to have political feet of their own on which they may walk into the current of World History." Sardar Baldev Singh promtly divulged the contents of this confidential offer to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and in compliance with the latter's wishes, declined to stay back and flew back to India after giving the following brave message to the Press: "The Sikhs have no demands to make on the British except the demand that they should quit India. Whatever political rights and aspirations the Sikhs have, they shall have them satisfied through the goodwil of the Congress and the majority community." The British leaders had asked Sardar Baldev Singh to stay behind because the wanted to propose to him that if Sikhs were not ready to enter into the agreement with Muslims, then the Sikhs could be given an independent state which extended from Panipat to Nanakana Sahib with extended excess upto the seashore. The Britishers were ready to station 25,000 British troops and war equipment for ten years and provide help in the administration provided the Sikhs agreed to provide 50,000 soldiers be stationed at Singapore and other colonies to help the Britishers for the next ten years. After ten years the agreement could be reconsidered. Through this agreement the administration and defence of independent punjabi sovereign land would have been ensured and there would have been no need to enter into an agreement with either India or Pakistan for the purposes of their administration and defence. Even Muslim League had agreed this proposal because it would give then strong buffer state between Pakistan and India. It was also in the interest British empire as they would still have their feet in this sub-continent. But was unfortunate that there was no leader among the Sikhs with political vision foresight who could see the benefits such an arrangement and demand independent Homeland for the Sikhs. But after Independence, the Congress leaders forgot their promises given to Sikh people. These very Congress lead adopted every conceivable postureand shrank from no stratagem to keep Sikhs permanently under their political heel, first, by refusing to form a Punjabi speaking state in which the Sikhs might acquire political effectiveness, and second, by not giving Sikhs and Punjab a special status in the Constitution Act of India.

RINAGAR, India (AP) -- Unidentified gunmen shot and killed five women and seriously wounded four other people in two separate incidents in India's
disputed Kashmir, police said Saturday.
In the first assault, the gunmen barged into Sikh homes in the village of Poshkora in
Hindu-dominated Anantnag district Friday night and opened fire.
Three young Sikh women were killed
and a Sikh couple was critically
wounded, police said. poshkara is 80 kilometers (47 miles) south of Srinagar, the summer capital of
Jammu-Kashmir state.
The second assault came half an hour
later, when gunmen attacked the home
of a Hindu family in neighboring Hugam
village, killing two women and wounding
another.
Guards at a police post nearby heard the
fire and chased the gunmen.
In the gunbattle that followed, one
policeman was wounded, while the
gunmen fled. Inspector General of Police K. Rajendran said that the same group could have
carried out both attacks, but declined to say which group.

Hello everyone
My name is Narain and im a Punjabi Hindu.
I am very angry at the way our enemy Pakistan trys to make out that Sikhs like Pakistan.
I know that some Sikhs have indeed sold out to their motherland and helped Pakistan and ISI.
But I also know that evry Sikh I have ever known has no such intentions.
Such Pakistani propaganda can be seen in a Pakistani film called Tere Pyar Mein.
The film is blatently anti-Hindu and makes out that Sikhs made a mistake joining with Indian in 1947.
Apart from a completely innacurate plot, the film is also insulting to the sensibilities of both Hindus and Sikhs.
Perhaps the makers of this film forgot what happened to Sikhs in 1947 or what happened to the Gurus centuries ago.
I also have a message to those Sikhs who support the Khalistan movement.
Hindus make up 40% of the population of Punjab. We love and revere Punjab just as much as our Sikh brothers and sisters do.
Those anti-India Sikhs who think that they can breakaway our land away from India should take a lesson from 1984!
The Indian government may have taken certain extreme measures which caused a lot of pain and suffering to Sikh people.
But!!
The message was clear.
Just like Kashmir, Punjab is part of India.
India is a mother for all its children.
But those children who attempt to harm our mother will PAY THE PRICE!!
DEATH TO PAKISTN
DEATH TO KHALISTAN

Practising Sikhism
Was this all, the Guru did? No. He not only described this new faith, but also explained it and practiced it. To inculcate the feeling of oneness, he made all the people sit together as Sangat (a group of comrades). A Sudra and a Brahmin, a king and a beggar, a Muslim and a Hindu, all would sit together in a Sangat and sing the praise of the same God. When Guru Nanak expired people did not know, to which faith he belonged. Both Hindus and Muslims loved him, respected him and accepted him as their Guru but he was neither a Hindu nor a Muslim. He laid firm foundations of the new faith, the followers of which were known as students (Shish or Sikh) of truth. Having failed to label him as a Muslim or a Hindu, both raised memorials at the same place (Kartarpur on the right bank of the Ravi where he breathed his last) in his honour.
Was he dead? No; he is living even today. A unique principle he preached was, that not his body but the Words-"Shabad" said by him, are to be valued and respected as living Guru. His words (Gurbani, Adi Granth) are with us and would ever be. Therefore, he would continue to guide humanity to the right path as long as it cares to understand him and follow his teachings.
The first lesson of "Sangat" was followed by the second lesson of "Pangat"-eating together. As this would finish the caste barriers of the Hindu faith, high caste people complained against this "anti-Dharam" activity of the Guru (3rd Nanak) to the king Akbar who rejected their petition when he was told details of the Sikh faith by Bhai Jetha ji (later on 4th Nanak).
" Baoli"-a common source of water and "Sarovar" (Amritsar) the sacred bathing tank, were the next practical steps for totally removing the sectarian or narrow communal feelings from the minds of the people. All this was crowned by welcoming Mian Mir, a Muslim by name and rituals but a Sikh by faith, to lay the foundation stone of the world famous Sikh Shrine, The Golden Temple, in the center of the Amrit Sarovar, now in the city named Amritsar in Punjab, India.
Another big step was taken by the fifth Nanak, who compiled the Adi Granth to be placed in the Golden Temple. It contained the writings of not only of the Gurus but also of many other persons who 'saw' the God living everywhere and in everyone, high and low, rich and poor. The first Nanak during his travels in India and abroad had collected their writings i.e. 'bani' or "shabad".
Why did the fifth Nanak do so? Why did he bring them at par with the Gurus? Were the writings of the Gurus not sufficient to give the guidelines of the faith preached by them? Inclusion of the writings of the persons was deliberate and had a deeper significance. It was to give a proof that anyone with any 'faith,' any caste, any place, who sincerely worships Him, will realize Him and find Him in ever heart. through this unique step, it was declared and preached that it is absurd to say that there is only one particular name of the God and there is only one particular method of worship to realize Him of find Him and reach Him. It was to be taught emphatically to all that any name and say method is right if there is sincerity behind the action and it is wrapped in pious love. The experiences of those seekers who "found" Him, were recorded for eternity in the Adi Granth. It must be taken not of that these persons were born in different religions, were of different castes and adopted different rituals but realized (experienced) the existence of the same God everywhere and in everyone. Here is what, a few of them whose writings are included in the Adi Granth, have said:
1. Rama Nanda was a Gaur Brahmin, Vaishanava. When he perceived the existence of the God in all and everywhere, he questioned the validity of outward rituals and announced "I need go nowhere. I have realized that all pervading god in my own heart as well" [Page 1195]
2. Kabir who was never weaver and brought up under Muslim environment spoke the same thing "God has created all beings from the same source and He Himself is existing in all of them and everywhere" [Page 1349]
3. Namdev was Maharashtrian calico-printer. Through sincere devotion he too reached the same stage of spiritual attainment-"In every body, there is the same God who speaks. Who else than God can be there to speak in every person?" [Page 988 ]
4. Sheikh Farid a Muslim who followed all Mohammedan rituals advises us: "If you want to love God, do not injure the feelings of any-one because He resides in everybody"[Page 1384 ]
5. Bhikhan another Muslim devotee also came to the same conclusion and said "Wherever I see, It is He Who is there" [page 659 ]
6. Ravidass : a cobbler, Sudra by caste, when he attained the stage of God-realization, even the Brahmins fell at his feet. He also came to the same conclusion "There is no second or third, it is the same God Himself everywhere" [Page 345 ]
7. Pipa a Raja and a disciple of Rama Nand has his own way of expressing the same feelings. "The God which prevails in the whole universe also resides in my own heart too. Anyone who search Him will find Him." [Page 695 ]
According to the Adi Granth, therefore there is one God and one humanity, hence only one religion. The Creator can be given any name-Allah, Ram, Gobind, Wahe-Guru, Hari, Krishan, God. Followers of this faith as stated earlier go the popular name, Shish (Sikh) which means a student (a disciple) of spirituality, Sikhism, therefore, is not communal in the narrow sense like some other religions and can be named as Humanism.
Some persons preach the philosophy that all religions are good. No, this is not acceptable to a Sikh. He would not accept any religion to be good if it believes a person to be low or high because of his birth. The distinction of being a Brahmin or Sudra by birth is against the basic tenets of Sikh faith. A man is as he behaves and not as he is born. Any one who loves Brahma (God) is a Brahmin even if he was born in any of the so called low-castes. Any faith which divides humanity on any basis, colour, caste or religion cannot be agreed to be a good religion.
Another fact which distinguishes it fundamentally from other religions is that they claim that their founders were specially sent by God' as Avtar/Prophet or His son. A follower of these must observe all the rituals prescribed by that guide and must utter a particular word, only then the prophet (the Avtar) will help him to obtain salvation. Sikhism is basically opposite to it. It simply tells ANYONE who loves human beings irrespective to their faith, (Hindu, Muslim, or Christian) birth (caste), social status, education (learned pandit or illiterate) and remembers Him with sincere mind would attain salvation/realize God. Sikhism does not make it obligatory for a devotee to accept a particular prophet to have been sent by God to save him and take his sins on himself.
The history is filled with numerous examples, when the Sikhs gladly underwent un-told sufferings and sacrificed themselves just to uphold the principles that all humanity is one. They would help the poor and even die for them irrespective of their religion, or caste (because the Sikhs believed that God lived in their hearts too). Guru Teg Bahadur did not offer his head because the Hindu Dharm was in danger because a tyrant was making innocent people suffer an inhuman oppression. He would have done the same thing if a Hindu king had committed atrocities on the Muslims. Did not Guru Nanak sympathize with the innocent Muslim Pathans who suffered when Mughal King Babar attacked Punjab? Did not Guru Gobind Singh help Bahadur Shah, son (the rightful heir of Delhi Kingdom) of Aurangzeb against his younger son who tried to get the kingdom by force. One can understand the greatness of Guru Gobind Singh only if he remembers that Aurangzeb killed not only his father, his sons but also his large number of Sikhs. The Guru still struck to his principles-Help those who are in need of it and deserve it.
Now to conclude, it can be said safely, without any fear of contradiction that Guru Nanak laid the foundation of a non-sectarian, universal faith for the whole humanity, not just another religion.
It is not just a new religion; it is a way of life for the new man-the man who believes all men are brethren and children of the same God and its mission is to work for the welfare of all and when the occasion demands to sacrifice his all for this ideal.
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the Name of the One Beautiful Creator and Creation !!!
A very important article for all people to read, to truly understand the universal humanistic faith of Sikhism.
In order to remove misconceptions and misunderstandings, this is being sent out.
Hope you have a great day and stay in high spirits!!!
Those who have written about Sikhism, can be grouped into distinct categories. One group believes that Sikhism is another sect of Hinduism and they think that Sikhs are Hindus with 'Keshas'. Others feel that Sikhism is that modern version of Hinduism which excludes orthodox and dogmatic approaches of the faith. The Western writers and many Indians too, however, feel that it is the resultant effect of Islam and Hinduism inter-acting together. They base their conclusion on the thesis that some of the rituals/principles of the Sikh faith agree with Islam (belief in one God, rejection of Idols) and others agree with Hindu faith (soul migration, marriage, death and birth ceremonies). Some people who keep the Sikh philosophy in mind rather than rituals followed by Sikhs observe that Sikhism is very near Islam less the fanaticism which was shown by the Muslim rulers. People very favorable to Sikhism have written that Guru Nanak picked up the good points both from Hinduism and Islam and named the combination of these as Sikhism.
The author feels all these views originate from the ignorance about the birth of Sikhism, its development in Punjab and its further progress in the whole if India, rather the whole world. To consider Sikhism as another faith is not acceptable to this writer, who believes Sikhism is not one more addition to the long lists of faiths in God, the principals of the faith and the practices suggested for a Sikh, one cannot help to recognize that Sikhism does not belong to the class of the existing religions. It is a class by itself and fundamentally different from all existing religions.
Let us study some beliefs common on Sikhism and other religions to explain this point. Hindus burn their dead and the Muslims bury them. The practice of burning their dead by Sikhs cannot be said to have been taken from Hinduism because the faith behind the action is totally different. Sikhism believes all practices, burning, burying, throwing in the water or any other method of disposing of the dead body equally good. These practices do neither any benefit nor any harm to the soul. This means Sikh adopt these methods without assigning any religious sanctity to these rituals which is not the case with other religions.
Similarly, in case Sikhs bury their dead it is not because Muslims do it. The same action is based again in a different philosophy. The latter do it because if the body is put on fire, the soul goes to hell, while the former do it, because it is a convenient method of disposing of the dead body. If the Sikhs throw their dead in the river to be consumed by the water life, the practice has not been taken from the Parsis who throw their dead to the vultures. All this proves that even when the same ritual is followed by Sikh it does not have the same meaning as in Hinduism or Islam. If in
Sikhism a particular spiritual thought, is same or similar to that of another religion, it is not an adoption from that religion because conceptually the two are different. The belief in only one God (not in many gods as in Hinduism) and non-worship of idols, have not been taken from the Muslim faith because the philosophy behind these practices is totally different in the two cases. According to the Muslim faith, a person becomes a believer in one God only if he embraces Islam otherwise he is a non-believer even when he holds a strong and sincere faith in God. According to this philosophy there must be two Gods, one for the Muslims and the other for the non-Muslims. This fact will be explained later. Here the purpose of stating this is that even with the same of similar rituals faith existing in Sikhism as in other religions, they cannot be made as a basis for concluding that Sikhism has been founded by taking good points both from Hinduism and Islam. It is a fundamentally new approach to the religion.
Each faith of a sect has a name given to the Creator, the Almighty i.e. God, Father Allah, Ram, Gobind, Krishan ect. But any and every name for the Supreme power is accepted in Sikhism. The Adi Granth (uniquely the ever-existing Shabad Guru, not just a religion book) which enunciates the fundamentals of the Sikh faith contains all these and more names of God. It is emphatically asserted that Ram (God of Hindus) and Rahim (God of Muslims) is the same Power/Authority.
According to Sikhism there is no particular place specifically reserved and furnished for the abode of God like "Puri", seventh sky, ect. He lives in every one's, heart, black of white, eastern or western, low caste or high caste, good or bad, rich or poor.
The Adi Granth not only describes the existence of the all prevailing God, but it offers strong proof of the same. If more than one person independently observes a particular fact, it is regarded as a reality. There are many authors (out of which only 7 in addition to Nanak have been referred to later in this article) who belonged to different places, practiced different methods of worship, were born in different castes, suffered socially low status or enjoyed very high respects in the society but made the same observation "God lives in everybody, you love man if you want to love God."

The faith Guru Nanak possessed, preached and initiated humanity into, is that there is only one God, the whole universe is just a manifestation of it and he is therefore, everywhere and in every soul. That is why, Guru Nanak decried the divisions of humanity on any basis, religion, caste or color.
His first lesson, was "Neither there is any Hindu nor a Muslim" implying thereby that there cannot be two or more religions, there is only one God hence there can be only one religion. Though, born in a Hindu Khatri family, he refused to wear the sacred thread and he had no hesitation to go to a mosque for prayers because the God he 'saw' was not imprisoned in a temple. This shook the whole society. He went to Mecca (a place of Muslim worship) and Hardwar (a place of Hindu worship) to preach the same truth-give up the distinction of being a Hindu or a Muslim-all of us are human beings, we have no other religion than that.
He also demolished all the dividing walls of the four Varan-Ashrams in Hindu society. Brahmin and Sudra were not different. Birth in Brahmin family, does not make a person of higher, spiritual merit and being a Sudra does not deprive him of it.
He did not stop here. He challenged the status of Sanskrit as the language of gods and the elite. Sanskrit, he asserted, is no more sacred than Persian of any other language. He preached, that language of God is love, every human being can express it in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Bengali, Gujrati, English or any other he knows. The people who believed that Sanskrit is the language of gods or Arabic is the language of Allah, found it difficult to agree with Nanak but the 'love' for all won him the place of honor and respect from all places of worship, both Hindu and Muslim.
Sikhism is an extension of Vedic Culture!!!!!!!!!!
i totally agree!!!!!
dont try to be all cocky and think that sikhism is all that, when you just use 'HINDU' concepts!!!!!!!!! almost all of the concepts used in your religion was from hinduism. " it was hindus who guru nanak recruited to become sikh. " dont insult your own kind!!!!!!
Actually I didn't see the contest. Personally, I'm against the whole idea of women being paraded about.
Haram Ranan di koi Zaat ni hondi.
from what I read in New York Times she didn't even answer the questions correctly. It's a disgrace that the parents are letting their daughters parade half nude in front of the world. What's more disgusting there are some sikh girls competing too. Shame on those sikh parents for letting their girls parade in front of the world like nautch girls. No sharam and gareth left in Indians anymore
Did anyone see Miss Indias' interview on Zee TV? She was crap.
Here Here
Im the anon who wrote: Anon, because she wasn't worthy of wearing a punjabi dress! Only beautiful Punjabi girls are worthy.
well, its the norm for kuttie kunjuries to dress like that for gorey. You see it all the time, kuttie kunjaries dressing like to impress the gorey on the streets too! stupid tart!
Poor Mother Indian would turn in her grave ...only if was not creamated...lol ....sorry fellows i could not resist that one.
It think she should be stripped of her title not of Miss World, but of Miss India instead it should MISS CUNGERIE.
SHAME I say, SHAME ON INDIA AND SHAME ON HINDOOOOOSTAN.
PUTTING thier WOMEN ON display FOR THE whole WORLD TO CEE. TO TOP IT UP SOME say SHE WAS Dressed NO NO MY GOOD FELLOWS SHE WAS SOLD NAKED. THE daughters OF MOTHER INDIA ???
THESE BUGGERS ARE GOING BACK TO THEIR days OF HINDOOO GLORY, THE GOOD OL DAYS OF DEBAUCHARRRRY, THE DAYS OF NAKED MAIDENS, THE DAYS OF NO SHARAM and no HAYA. The days of temple shagging.
TRUE
Yeah she was dressed like a proper cungerie.
Anon, because she wasn't worthy of wearing a punjabi dress! Only beautiful Punjabi girls are worthy.
She is giving Indians a bad name dressed like a slut. I agree you should have the free will to dress as you please, but there are limits - why couldn't she wear a punjabi dress?
What if a woman wants to dress the way she feels like? It's called a free world. She's not living her parent's legacy, no one but her own. She's well within the rights to do whatever she wants. It would give a good smack to those Brahmin Lalla politicians, who banned Shekhar Kapoor's movies, released it finally after having hacked it to the point of absurdity, and control India's democracy.
Miss India was dressed like a hoe. What sort of parents would let their daughter dress in such a slapperish outfit - obvoiusly they have no sharam...
I agree that Miss India was an arrogant bitch - underneath all that make up she is an ugly dog.
Okay..........
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
How about showing me proof in Islam that shows that if you knock off a man's advances, he's got the right to throw acid on your face? How about stoning a woman to death? How about a grim 3400 killed in the country of Jordan alone? One was for smoking a cigarette. What about female circumcision? Where the lips are cut off, so a women can be "honorable"? Taj, I don't give a rat's ass about what sullehs do to their women. No where is it said anywhere in a Hindu Vedic literature that a women is supposed to kill herself, that women can't be remarried, and that women, and inheritance.
On the whole I should say that Indian women are quite liberated indeed. If there was a Shoba De in Pakistan, how long do you think she would be living? What about the right to vote? What about education? Just now I was watching something about a madrasa in Pakistan, where the only education is "Kill Kafir Hindustan", "The Indian Muslims are the only good Indians", and countless other favorites?
A Jat,
Yeah.I agree it was rigged.I mean, come on ... Zee TV sponspored the thing ! I didn't think she was all that. I personally liked Miss USA. She was FIT. And so was Miss Ukraine. I liked that answer she gave. When Jerry Springer goes "what will you be doing in 10 years time?" , and she goes in her Ukranian accent "I will be 27".I thought she was cute !
Since Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai,India have gone all out in winning it year after year - Yukta Mookhey,Diana Hayden,Lara Dutta and now this one. There was a sikh one 4-5 years ago (after Sush and Ash).Called Manpreet Brar.
Anyways,
Tarun.
did i hear right--they said she was a christian ??
nice to know that india won miss world but that was a very sleazy outfit wasnt it.
very un-indian--more like a las vegas showgirl(for want of a better discription)

Malhotra Lal Chand Mahasha Lallia, please provide a quote from the Quran only about compulsory burkhas for females.I have been informed on two occassions that the Prophet didnt mention this in the Quran. All he said was men and women should behave and dress modestly.Either way Im no expert. How about telling us of what Hinduism has to say about females, infanticide, dowry, bride burning, sati, selling Hindu females to bahman pandits in mandirs and devoting them to your idols, inferiority attached to female menstruation, forbidden widow marriages and inheritance and on and on.Please enlighten me.
ASM
comeon, everyone knows thats fixed, its about the only
competition hindoo's are ever capable of winning, you
know what im saying VIATCH.
Hey Paki "anonymous",
Did you see Priyanka Chopra get the Miss World title? So far India has won it more than 4 times. I'd like to see a smelly, paki sulleh bitch get a Miss World Award. But wait, she would have like a burkha over her whole damn body now wouldn't she?
Why is it that when I give a paki girl a cookie, she follows me home?
Why do indian girls even the really ugly ones have attitiude and reckon that every bloke wants to shag them?
A hindu is a hindu, you are all equal, but your all the same when you want there Votes.
These low-caste MFs are the ones that put you in Power.
Hindu's are the scum of the Earth, theres no doubting
that.
Cockjatt,
you silly cow,
those tasks were preserved for low-caste Hindus, much different from Tarun and me, and plus have you seen "The Little Princess"? There's a Sikh serving the people, not a Hindu, so shut the freak up.
Tarun
I tell you what your duty was prior to being a hindu

THERE IS A "KHALISTAN" THREAD,"SIKHS WERE NEVER HINDUS" THREAD AND THE MAIN "HINDU-SIKH RELATIONS" THREAD ... DO IT ALL THERE.
Arjun SD,
1) I have a duty to both the hindu religion and Hindustan.
2) Months ago you said that sikhs wanted only two things from hindus, one was recognition that it was a separate faith and the other, peace and friendship. You did say that.I will find it if I have to. Yes.I think most hindus are willing to give that - but when the issue of Khalistan comes up, you are the ones that are drawing up the lines...
Tarun.
PS:- Arjun (SM) where u been hiding ?
tarun and malhotra:
why dont you stick to preserving hinduism and let Sikhs be---what we become is up to us in the end---Sikh destiny will one day be in sikh hands--I promise you.
As for KAHLISTANIS having low IQs and making you laugh my dear tarun, do the DHOTI wearing hindus carrying bricks to adoyha make you laugh as well, how about the antics of the brainwashed fools in the RSS or the ludicrous claims of the mythology intoxiacted BJP. Grow up Tarun and malhotra----you anti-sikh prejudices are so apparent. We SIKHS are not your enemies----our enemy is the brahmin dominated policies of the indian govt. If we choose and by Sikh will and God's will, we become a separate nation---there is no power on earth that can stop it. Every people has its day, remember that. You hindus have all of india----all we want is the piece that is already ours. Good bye
arjun dhillon
Hindu's sold themselves - they don't deserve INDIA.

At one time I heard Cooljat, speaking of a new united India, then I remembered what a dumbass you just are. Nothing you say can be supported, and you're hiding behind a fuckin' screen monitor, with a false sense of security and a dangerous rush of self-esteem. Dumbass piss-filled cunts like you are always bumpin' uglies, and always end their lives unresolved, and without closure. Khalistan, ain't gonna happen. Think about it, Clinton spending 5 days in India.
when I hear "Khalee-[empty]stan" I think of separatists with the IQ of Homer Simpson,I piss myself laughing

(HI COOLJAT!)
Are there a lot of Indian restaurants where you Americans are? What number are U2 - at - on the National Billboard chart? The new video has Bono falling onto a luggage belt after tasting an apple and he carries on enjoying it!I havent picked up the new album but my friend will pick it up for me a quid from delhi!I dug up my Zoo TV Live video and watched it again, the duo with Lou Reed on 'Satellite Of Love' was classic,'Satellites calling driving me out of my mind,Ill watch you for a little while,Satellite of love,Sa-te-llite'!Popmart was good too but Zoo TV was the bomb.
Wow Jazzy B is still good as a singer and Bhinda Jatts debut I was listening to the other day.Any good bhangra tapes out now? What Malkit Singh album has his popular version of Jind Mahi, the original of old?Regards.
Arjun SD,
One thing about American restaurants I love is the proportions. Our "large" sizes are equivalent to your "small" ones.My favourite one in California was definitely Dennys. One night my cousin and I had gone binge drinking in San Francisco, and we were going back home (Fremont). We were very very drunk. And you know how it is - once the 'nasha' starts coming down you start feeling very hungry. The only thing open was this place called Dennys. Ohhhhhh Man - did we eat ! All these fried platters - and it was dead cheap!
Anyways,as for the election - if I was an American citizen I would have voted Bush. He seems to have personality. My cousin in California is praying to God that Gore wins. Kehnda "jei Bush jeet gaya tha main vapas India gaya". Apparently, Bush is gonna make it hard for these H1 visa people to stay on the in US.
Tarun.
tarun: there are millions of obese people in the USA--thanks to the eateries as you call them on every corner. In california, peoiple are much more health and (unfortunately beauty concious). Its hard to get healthy food in the USA---everything is under the cointrol of a few hugh food corporations and god only knows what they put in our food and drink.
But organic coops are setting up which is good news.
P.S. Everybody please pray that Gore wins florida. We are on the edge of our seats.
arjun dhillon
Hey Guys !
How is everyone ?
I went NYC this weekend ! Had a wicked time !
All u Americans - you guys have the best eateries going !!! Why don't we get stuff like Applebees in England ??? I couldn't get enough of that place ! Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner !!!
bRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Tarun.
Can we please keep politics out of this thread!!!
Anonymous,
take all of information and take it to WHO HATES BLOODSUCKING BRAHMINS? There it will have a nice home and room to function.
5.1. The Brahmanist Congress
The Brahmanists came to power on the Congress elephant by deviously converting the pre-independence political debate and struggle into a communal Hindu-Muslim religious struggle. This was made possible by the master stroke of Mahatama Gandhi - the Hindu nationalist cum holy sadhu who made "Hindus" a 55% majority on paper in the 1920s upon getting the Dalits or "untouchables" (20%) fraudulently dubbed as "Hindus" by the British. This cunning coup moved the "Hindus" from 35% to a 55% majority in British India. In pre-independence India, Mughal-Muslims were 25%; Sikhs/Christians/Buddhists/tribals/etc. formed the remaining 20%.
This action, along with recognition of Congress as the sole political representative of all Indians in national matters, was a payoff by the British colonial authorities to the Brahmanist-lead Congress and Gandhi for loyal services rendered to Queen and empire by the Brahminist throughout the dark era of British colonialism. Indeed, so close was the co-operation between the British and the Brahminists that the entire era has should be dubbed the Anglo-Brahmin colonial age. A few of the incidents displaying the brazen conspiracy are the Anglo-Brahmin suppression of the Dravidian Moplah rebellion, the support extended by the Brahminists to the British in their World War I effort; the recruitment the non-Brahmin "martial" communities (e.g. Sikhs, Jats, Rajputs, Gujars of Saka-origin) of the northwest and Mughal-Muslims to go fight for the British Empire in Europe and the Middle East; subduing, opposing, infiltrating and sabotaging other non-Congress (read non-Brahmanist) led political parties and independence movements organized at home (who saw British weakness during the war as an ideal opportunity to throw off the Anglo-Brahmin yoke).
5.2 The Hindu Pile
The 55% fraudulent "Hindu pile" was little more than a political game of Brahmanist politicians and political parties in Delhi while caste Hindus would not eat, touch, marry, socialize or even worship with their "polluted" Dalits (20% untouchables) in the 1920s. After this victory on paper, Brahmanist politicians, political parties, and organizations totally communalized pre-independence politics along "Hindu/Muslim" religious lines of "nationhood" to get on the road to empire and Delhi. The British to their merit left Indians a functional parliamentary system served by a small but efficient administrative system which did not tolerate corruption. While glibly taking of egalitarian western political philosophies, the Brahmanists quickly established a blubbering Casteocracy with a mammoth political and administrative system under the banner of pseudo-socialism. Almost all of the top decision-making and managerial positions (95%) in the country's administration, bureaucracy, state-run media, press, huge state-run economic sector, universities, army, police, etc. have been stacked by Brahmanists who form 7% of Hindus. Under Pseudo-Secularism, Permit Raj and Swadeshi Economics, only the Brahmanist cliques have been allowed to invest and enter the new modern and profitable industrial and manufacturing sectors while the rest of Indians are tied to the plough, working on dwindling lands and the unskilled labor market. Under the Brahminist invention of Pseudo-Secularism, the mass of Indians have been crushed to the status of illiterate labourers. To make things worse, the Brahminists, aware of the fact that they should sooner or later have to hand over power to the non-Aryans, have engaged in mad expoitation of India's natural resources, thereby permanently ruining the environment of the subcontinent.
Under Indian agrarian policies, ridiculous land ceilings of 18 acres/household were set and agricultural prices have been historically set at 50% lower than prevailing world prices. Brahmanists are traditionally non-landowners and non-agriculturalists, so this move served to maintain the agricultural masses in perpetual poverty. Meanwhile, no such controls or ceilings were ever imposed on ownership of urban property and industries (requiring government permits/licenses for entry) and the industrial price index in India has been above the international industrial price index, thereby enriching the Brahmin-controlled State-Owned Public Sector Units (PSU's) and Industries.
5.3 Loot of Saka Lands
Over the past 50 years, such neo-colonialist policies have precipitated a massive transfer of wealth from the highly productive "Saka region" in the west (comprising Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana and western UP) into the hands of Brahmanists monopolizing the upper level bureaucratic machinery, the agro-industries and the wider industrial-manufacturing sector with which the agrarian sector exchanges production. The tremendous wealth generated by the "Green revolution" in the northwest has been siphoned-off through the state-run banking system and these savings diverted to fund the massive, inefficient, stagnant and corrupted state-run industrial sector where again Brahmanist `Aryan' managers and officials roost the nest.
Through unbridled corruption and criminalization of the state machinery in the post-British period, the political and governmental system has been quickly converted into a huge rent-seeking "milking cow" for the enrichment and exploitation of the "superior" Brahmanists (who prior to 1947 held little family property or wealth). Genocidal state terror and violence has been unleashed on the populations of every non-Hindu majority state in the Indian Union (including Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Manipur, Mizoland, Nagaland, etc.) and the "lower castes" and Dalits (untouchables) live under constant threat of random police violence and torture to keep them under submission and to discourage them from mobilizing politically.
This is the true hideous, criminal and genocidal nature of the 50-year Casteocracy, imperialistically running the old Anglo-Brahmin empire and motivated by the hegemonic, supremacist and racist socio-political dogma of neo-Brahmanism.
Unfortunately, Western opinion on events in India has been largely shaped by the Brahmanist viewpoint by virtue of their control over the governmental machinery, political system, academics, state-run mass media and press in India. Brahmanists have been extremely effective in propagating their historical and political myths and propaganda and hiding, deflecting and scapegoating India's gruesome realities. The Brahminist brainwashing machine has completely obscured the Casteocracy's failures and ruthless tyranny on their helpless victims : the lower castes and religious minorities.
Brahmanist emigrees to the west have very zealously adopted the role of "Hindutva Ambassadors" and guardians of the honor of their dishonorable Casteocracy and perpetually lying to the world to cover-up its criminal, corrupted and genocidal nature and spread neo-Brahmanist doctrines and historical fraud to the outside world.

Baljeet you take that back. I'm an american now and I'm not "pretentious, loud and quite obnoxious...." I know a lots of Americans (white, blacks, Indians etc.) who are really nice and family oriented.
Okay I admit I'm loud sometimes but that comes from being Punjabi no american.
Gang*SP they are my cousins I told you about...the more urgent one is 25 years old, she's 5ft 10 so she'll need a very tall bloke....Arjun, I don't know about other girls, but I persoanlly wouldn't want to go to live in America, I have lot's of cousins out there and have been there a few times, but I just don't feel at home - I find Americans really pretentious, loud and quite obnoxious....
baljeet how come english born sikh women dont want to marry in the US
ARJUN DHILLON
Man you guys crack me up!Matchmaking on the net!You people are pretty safe.I couldve been a boxer,I wouldve got into the training and the moves easily but the pressures to be a siyana convinced me otherwise.Ideally I wouldve been in the SAS or an international hitman/mercenary,fighting a war.I was born a killer.
Baljeet, how old are they?
I know someone who might be interested!
I think perhaps that they might consider it, but their parents - NO WAY. You know how narrowminded some people can be, but I'm sure these munde will find the girls of the dreams.....good luck.
It seems like youv'e got a nice proposition in hand.
These lads are not as intellectually as clever as the
girls, cuz they hold no degrees as such - but they
make up for this deficiency in other departments.
Very healthy & goodlooks - ask the girls - see what
they say.
Well these kurriah are both sisters, well educated both have law degrees - one from Oxford Uni, one from Sussex Uni, both working for top Law firms in the City, both good looking, can sing shabads and read and write punjabi - do you think they'll make a good match?
These MUNDE are very nice
Both fairskinned & both are boxers - so their very
energetic - ones 23 & 26 respectively.
Yep I know lots of nice, respectable kurriah who are ready to get married.....so who are these munde?
Got to get my brothers married
Bacholey baan jaa kurriye
Oh yeah, forgot to say does anyone want to get married?
Mellissa, the reason being is that our postings are worth the effort reading whereas all you come out with is complete and utter bollocks and no-one likes you......that doesn't necessarily mean me because I don't know you, but from what I can tell no one likes you much......so if all this hurts you so much then you should just give it up and find some other internet site to keep you entertained - perhaps ones about cats or dogs - because all goray like those flea ridden animals.....
Why is it okay for everyone else to chat about what ever but when I do I get attacked?.. You people here seriouslly have some mental problems.. I have never in my life known of a more phucked up group of youngster! Good luck to you all~
Hello,
Well Friday night turned out to be a bit manic actually. The trains were delayed for hour and half and so I didn't get home until well after midnight...then had to get up at 7.30am to go to Surrey, but had a good time. How was your weekend?
Kind, I have to agree that Melissa does talk shit most of the time. She was away for a bit and now she's back everyones cursing each other again.
Melissa, you may mean well but why don't you talk out of your mouth and not out of your ass, maybe then people might respect your comments.
Cooljat, I haven't heard of that driver, but from what you say he must be a real hotshot? About Senna, noway is Schumacher close to Senna'a expertise, but like i said, he is King now.
Baljeet how was friday night?
Auran....why?
How could you do this....you traitor. Look at the rubbish she talks. the pain she causes. Her witty little messages, sarah this, sarah that. Oh thankyou sarah. dont waste you energy sarah, take it to the melissa out page, take it away. NOOOO LEAVE ME ALONE..........nanananananARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
Thanks Arjun!!.. This is supposted to be the super happy fun page!!!! I dont know whats the hang up anyway?..
KIND,
any hateful response you want to give, please take it to MELISSA OUT! That's what its there for. I don't know why, but somebody created it.
Get a grip you looser!!
Oh look Melissa the go carting expert now. Cooljat, only you know how I feel....I think. And white. Even though she is a racist little bitch....who.....

Why do you think that if the guru had been realesed on Christmas, we would then celebrate it. Do you not think that we would just have another name for the day.
Observer,
"Diwali is celebrated by sikhs because that's the time when the 6th Guru,Guru Hargobind returned to Amritsar after having escaped from Jahangir along with 52 hindu princes. "
To me this still does not make sense. What if Guru Hargobind Ji was released on Christmas day, should we start celebrating Christmas? About those 52 Hindu princes, I think getting them released was a mistake. They only caused harm and confusion in the Sikh kingdom, during Guru Gobind Singh's times.
I still don't see any significance to Diwali or Holi amongst Sikhs.
Have a good weekend everyone.....
Schumachers technically gifted, but not an out an out
extremist like senna was - schumachers mentioned this
himself many times. senna was the fastest ever.
SP - watch out for newboy colombian JUAN PABLO MONTOYA
that kids fast - did you see him conquer America - now
he'll conquer Europe with his driving talent.
by the way ive been driving since 6 yrs old, its my
passion - I have been to quite a few GP's - my
favourite being MONACO 97.
hey cooljat - so you think your a bit of a go-karter? well you should come down too, it'll be a good laugh!
Baljeet - Yeah it was a shocker when you started to mention some exquisite cars, but cool.... You do have an eye for fast cars!
About the bhangra gigs okay im up for that too, but Xmas is going to be a busy period for me, so it might be difficult around that time.
Yeah I watch Grand Prix too, yes Senna's a legend. But Schumacher is the king now!
We have the coolest go-carting place by my house!!! Man, it is a blast..they go sooo fast and track is actually pretty big compared to others I have been to, Cooljat what are the go-cating places like over there?
As Gang*SP can vouch for me - I know my cars and like driving fast cars so I would up for go karting...I also like watching F1 - I've actauly been to the San Marino Grand Prix which I think is the best circuit....but as I mentioned to Gang*SP there will be lots of bhangra gigs near Xmas time - perhaps we should all meet up and plus it will be my first...
SP
I used to be a go-kart specialist, thats where my
talent is, im an absolutely brilliant karter, any
track i go too, i always break the LAP record.
Ayrton Senna was the Best driver, DOES anyone watch
F1.
Arjun cheers for the recommendation.
Baljeet - it would have been very interesting if NP had turned up!
hey is anyone into Go-Karting?? I think we should all hook up one weekend and do some of that! Taj, NP, Baljeet - what do you guys reckon?
Sunny - that bhangra bash at berkely :

i hope you can make it!
I like the Jam - Going Underground is a classic tune and also Long Hot Summer by the Style Council. Yep my meeting with SP was fine - we had a really good laugh....we should all get togther sometime. Hope everyone had a good diwali - we had a bit on an accident where a rocket went straight through our garden shed window - my dad wasn't too pleased....
taj: I lived and loved the Jam---in fact i once met Paul weller and we chatted for a few minutes--he's an interesting man. I also saw the style council play--not as good as the jam.
Gang SP: There is a movie plus cd called the "buena vista social club" based on the music of the 1950s cuban clubs---it is quite brilliant and very sad---i recommend this to all.
Malhotra: i am only playing with you---the only thing beside your rather disturbing rampant hindu nationalism that upsets me is the way you described your jat sikh sister in law as a "jatti hottie" or words to that effect---i thought that was disresptful and inappropriate. Other than that I still really do think you're a geeky little Texan but i wish you happy diwali anyway---try not to get into any fights and read some books on Sikhism--and then maybe we'll talk.
P.S. no.1: To all---dont regard bhangra as the be all of punjabi musical tradition---it bloody well isnt. There is lots of other punjabi spiritual music to get lost in.
P.S. no. 2: Can anyone tell me if there is still a band from liverpool called the "Wah" or maybe "might wah"---I cannot find anything by them in california.
p.s. no.3: Baljeet how did your meeting go with gang sp or was it NP. And where has Gurdeep Singh gone to?
happy diwali to all from a rainy windy northern california
arjun dhillon
sarb,
Diwali is celebrated by sikhs because that's the time when the 6th Guru,Guru Hargobind returned to Amritsar after having escaped from Jahangir along with 52 hindu princes.
Also,Guru Gobind Singh ji,on having established the Khalsa, said that sikhs should visit the Gurdwara on Diwali and Holi (Hola Mohalla) to re-affirm their faith/allegiance with sikhism and not hinduism.
I don't celebrate Diwali or Holi cuz it has no significance in Sikhism.
-Sarb
Hey Arjun Dhillon Singh,
I read what you wrote to me in the other page, and I was fumin', fuckin', mad as hell. But then I saw what you wrote here, and I just see that you're not really critizing me.
Okay i better say my bit - happy Diwali everyone ~ Hope you guys have fun and don't stuff yourselves too much with barfi, ladoo's, galaab jamans, ras gula's and ras malai - actually ras malai is an exception!!!
A.Jat - yeah I used to DJ not much anymore just bit here and there. About the mixing, well you see its not the RAP lyrics i mix into the panjabi tunes its just the beats and loops - instrumentals if you like!
Taj, yeah Prince is okay, Jamariqui's stuff is cool.

r u a d.j .if u start mixing rap yap with bhangra u r spoiling something which is good already.slowley the music and people poonds come to be acceptable.the guys started it for the girls to follow.
anybody mix it round this way and there feet or equipment wouldn't touch the ground.
tarun
u better do something about that what u said about ur family members listening to poonds noises.i never would allow michael ruddy jackson let alone anybody else.sound like a ape in pain ,yap yaping.
Santana is also good - yep Gang*SP the restaurant was nice and the food was good too - although I do think we may have overdone it with the amount of food we ordered and didn't even eat half of it....
Kidhaan Amrit ??? Tu theek-hiaa ??? Howz Uni ? What's Leeds n Bradford saying ?
What's up Mel ? I just emailed ya !
Black music sucks ! I don't understand it ! My sister and all her mates love it ! I think it's a thing with all Asian kuria.Hindi music and Bhangra rule, if you ask me!
Tarun.
Arjun D, I have this Cypress Hill album and they've sung it all in Latino - I can't really understand a word. But the music is very good... Thanks for the tip, I will look out for those names next time i go record hunting!
Baljeet - so what did you think of last night? I had a good time. The Panjab restaurant was nice! even though that "Kunjar" waiter forgot to order my extra naan!
malhotra: good point about rap being junk---by the way I still think youre a goofball--no offence.
arjun dhillon
gang sp:
if you really want to expand your horizons, listen to Cuban and latin music. Buena vista social club and the gypsy kings are classics.
a. dhillon
Guys, Yes i know Rap music is very degrading and promotes drugs and violent behaviour. However I started to listen this type of music back in the electro days - anyone remember? and just kept collecting from then on....
When I say i collect rap its usually for the beats and samples, because its very easy to crossmix bhangra tunes with Rap Anthems. To be honest i prefer it to rock/R&B and swing/soul music.
A.Jat, I by no means promote rap music to any extent, infact I hardly ever listen to it now - and never play it unless it is requested and they are always the radio edits! Like i said on another thread, you won't hear it coming out of my car... only the likes of Manak, chamkilla and Mann!
to all:
Rap is quite insidious and utter junk culture which degrades women, promotes brain death and violence. No Sikh should be promoting tgis crap---i would rather listen to opera than rap---it has nothing to do with our culture---lets not lower ourselves to this level.
dilip
I agree...
Kidhann Tarun?
I personally never ever liked rap music. Every song sounds fuckin same to the point of it being monotonous. I just never had a feel for the stuff. All of the songs have to do with how much money they supposedly have, girls, "gotta get my dick sucked", and playin'. It just doesn't have FEEL. It doesn't have a SOUL.
gang s.p.
r u talking about rap music.coz if u r thats what we were on about on the other thread .our own boys promoting it and then reaping the long term repercussions .
i cant see any tune or matter to that junglee noise.and y our own r lowering themself to yapping such crap.tho to be honest,i aint been to a wedding or party where they play such rubbish.
sarb, I'm with you 100%. Rap sucks big time.
Loko,
I can't understand why Punjabi's listen to Rap music, especially girls cuz it is so degrading to women and is full of hate and violence. RAP Sucks! I really hate it. For me it's Bhangra, all types of Rock (being an American), and 80's Hindi music.
AKB, nice to see you back!
Sat Shiri Akaal to all ~
It's good to see that this place has got a lot more friendlier (well this page, at least) =)
Khaan waste - I like 'mooli de paronthe'. That's my favourite parontha stuffing. And for dinner - paneer and naan. Desert lai - ummmmmm, it's got to be gulab jamun !!!
Take Care All,
Bye,
Am.
I would love to see that video - sounds really mad. Yeah I've only recetly discovered Bhangra and have never been to any Bhangra gigs. My cousin goes to University in North London and she knows all the latest gigs and stuff - we are going to go nearer Christmas time - perhaps you could come too - any case you'll have a laugh when you see my trying to dance - not a pretty site....
Baljeet.... Hey i forgot to mention Ice T - yeah his stuff used to be good.... have you heard of his monster album Home Invasion?? That has to one of the best Rap/Hip-Hop albums ever. It was banned and he had to re-release it on his own label!!!
Staying with Jump Around, and people getting knocked in the face, well I was playing out at my mates house, friday night before he got married. Towards the end of the night (by this time everyone had consumed enough alhohol to fill barrells!) I played Jump around, the tent thing he had up, half of it had come down, the camera man got knocked on the floor on one side and his camera went flying on the other side!! it was hilarious!!!!! you should have seen the video afterwards!
However, i don't really like going to Hip-Hop night clubs, I just see them a waste of time and rather spend those few hours bopping away to BHANGRA!!!
Well you and I must be the only ones then. I also like Ice T - I know not very girlie like, but hey I like to be different - Body Count is an ace tune. On the subject of Jump Around, I went to my friends party a couple of weeks ago and they played Jump Around and my friend got knocked in the face and his tooth fell out while jumping up and down. Actually you might be interested in this place - it callled the Dragon Bar in Hoxton near Old Street tube. They play cool music and have live rappers on set...
Hey Baljeet I hate Soul/Swing on all that crap!! I'm more into RAP - Cypress Hill are my Fav. Got every single one of their records, even the imports!
Don't like Wu-Tang too much, Onyx are okay, I like Dre's new album especially the tune D.R.E. and also like some of biggy's tunes - 'Hypnotyize' and 'one more chance'!!
And ofcourse House of Pain - JUMP AROUND!!!!
Baljeet - switch your phone on!
Yeh, there's a few good punjabi singers out there at
the moment, Kuldip manak is good, great voice, used
to listen to him when i was YOUNG. Some old Hindi
tracks are good too.
Baljeet, you must be the only person i know that don't
like R&B/Soul - maybe you'll like Hip-hop & RAP -
Dr DRE & TU PAC - you must like ther music.
Goreh can't sing, they ain't got the voice for it,
punjabi's & kaley have the deepest voices, so naturally we are better singers.
TAJ - I bet you'd like MARVIN GAYE, that guy was a
great artist, unfortunately his father shot him.
Does anyone else out there apart from me have a total dislike to Soul/R&B Music?? I like bands like Wu Tang Klan, U2, The Smiths, Bush. I actually went to see Radiohead about a month ago. I've also got their new album, it's not as balladesque as I would have liked, more experimental tunes like the Chemical Brothers, but it's an album that could grow on you...
In UK you wont find a single Asian listening to 'gorra' music. They are all totally emersed in nigger music, and you can find its' corruption of Punjabi in everything you hear.
I dont 'listen' to 'gorra music' but I know a good tune when I hear one, though a lot of it is pretty crap.I wouldnt blast it in a car and I get odd looks when people learn I like the tunes below.
Nirvana's Nevermind was the the bomb.Oasis's debut set Definitely Maybe is bloody good stuff too, though the last few runs are total shite. When I hear Supersonic,I feel hard, and when I hear Live Forever you can get really emotional, like you feel you have a destiny/legacy or something.
Other tunes I like are Rooster by Alice In Chains, the thunder of the guitars, the lyrics and the video just blew my mind when I heard first th- at - .
I also like Self Esteem by Offspring,Heroes by David Bowie and Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin.
Still nothing can beat Limp Bizkit,U2's Zooropa and Achtung Baby,Stone Roses,Malkit Singh and Gurdas Mann.
What are the names of those khakhi coloured baggy trousers th- at - fold up above the ankles worn by white californians/mexicans(?)/punk rap bands?
I'm listening to Sahotas right now, its a CD I jipped off my sister. And I just downloaded a track off Napster by Jazzy B, named "Surma". I saw the videos for both of these artists when I was at Pathankot, but I really liked the Jazzy B video.
Baljeet,
what are the alternative bands you like? I'm listening to some techno like Paul Oakenfold, Chicane, Underworld, ATB, Alice Deejay, DJ Kaycee, and others. Also I got the new RadioHead CD, called "Kid A". "Letting the Cables Sleep" by Bush is really good too. It has that warmth that their other stuff lacks. It has smooth tones, and its perfect for listening in the cold, gray, rainy weather, and plus it sounds as if Gavin Rossdale is crying. Most of the British alternative bands are good at the feeling, euphoric rock I like that the US bands here are lacking. But the new track by the Deftones, "Change (in the house of flies) is really good.
Yep well I'm new to these tunes, infact I'm sitting here at work listening to another top tune Apna Punjab...also Putt Sardra Da is a good tune...
Vohti ? By AS Kang ?
I think everyone has got Mundian Tho Bachke Rahi.
Badddd tune - the Surinder Shinda one off "Life After Death" by Asian DJ Culture.
Laterzzzz
Tarun
I went to an Indian fashion show on the w/end with my sis. Now I have never been to an Indian gig, but I must say that I had an excellent time. OK my bhangra skills are much to be desired, but I tried and had a wicked time. The music too was really good - I, like you Arjun like alternative music, but I heard two top tunes - Munde Bachkarae and Voti - if you haven't heard of these you should get them - they're ace...
I just got back from this rave at Austin, which is 463 miles away from Houston. I left at 10:00 at Saturday, in the morning, and came back two hours ago to the present. It was raining and when it stopped, I saw the most beautiful thing. The sun was setting, I was playing the new RadioHead CD, and it looked as if you couldn't tell where the earth ended, and where the sky began. Something rhetoric. I looked over at my girl, and I saw that she felt it too.
The music was the best part. Bands like RAdioHead, Bush, Oasis, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Tool add an ethereal and euphoric feel inside of you. If you're not into this type of music, then at least try it once. Go to your CD shop, or just download a track off Napster.
my bother graduated on wednesday and we had ;
chappell kebabs, shish kebabs and aloo tikki with salad and chutneys .
then chicken balti ,lamb bohti ,saag paneer and tarka dahl with naans, salad ,rice ,chutneys, salads again.
last we had pistachio kulfis and raasmalais.
desi tea to round it off!
a punjabi place, called desi khana .
they had hevey red, blue and white wooden carved chairs imported from punjab and carved tables with marble tops.old punjabi songs playing in the background.
bliss.none of that screechy hindi filmy music.gives me the jitters!!
Ideal meal:-
Seekh Kabab and Chicken Tikka platter for starters with salad, nimbu and minty-yoghurt chutney on the side.
Butter Chicken and Naan for the main bit.
Maybe something veggie on the side to go with it - perhaps some daal makhani or shahi paneer or saag paneer or something like that ?
Kulfi or Gulab Jamun or Rasmalai for desert.
And drink Rubicon Mango/Rubicon Passion Fruit for the extra Indian feel !
YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

PS:- come on guys. no hatred. no politics. let's just keep this one friendly ? Please ?
still taj--read that link.
sikh women raped by police and the govt allows that and allows there killing too.
I just noticed the distinct heading of this thread is 'NO HATRED OR POLITICS'.Please take these arguments to the relevant pages.
Gorra food is shit, always has been.Italian and Indian are the best.
malhotra you're quite funny but still a bit of a twit.
And NO IT ISNT ALL-RIGHT THAT SIKH WOMEN DATE MUSLIMS OR HINDUS OR SIKH MEN DATE MUSLIM OR HINDU WOMEN. If it happens it is sad and destructive for us Sikhs.
arjun dhillon
A whole new probe of the Dehli massacres at:
http://www.maboli.com/Sikh_HR/
Wow, all of you people must hate "gorras" with a vengeance or something. The girl I'm seeing is nothing like a slut or anything. She gets extremely turned off whenever anyone mentions sex. She comes from a very educated family, the daughter of Swedish immigrants, and her father is a no-nonsense Engineer guy with a military background, and her mother's a psychologist.
Savraj,
I never mentioned that Hindu girls only, I put Sikh girls as well. And second of all, who am I to tell another human what to do? If Hindu and Sikh girls want to date a Muslim, go ahead. But I was commenting on the way earlier when some Muslims in London dress themselves as Sikh men, with a pugree, or whatever to associate with Sikh girls, or make themselves to be Hindus, so that they can morph to Hindus or some shit like that. If a man wants a woman, he should be honest. I was simply commenting the deceitful way that they are doing it. My own family is made up of Hindus and Sikhs, and I have Jat blood in me, not just cases of Hindu men with Sikh women, but Hindu aunts with Sikh men, so I don't know where you got the basis for critizing me, but you're very wrong.
Tarun,
I was wearing Eternity by Calvin Klein, and I think I got a hint of "Allure" from her.
It's true.On the whole,Indian men with white girls are generally after one thing. My brother is like that as well.
That gorrie was probably wearing F- ALL anyways, no
shame, she'll shag ASM then she'll go onto
a new flavour - like Dark chocolate - a favourite
among the Gorries at the mo.
Ohhhhhh, sorry I didn't read what u wrote properly !
Yeah, takeaways and sweethouses are generally Indian and Pakistani ! Tu sahi bolda !
Tarun
Cooljat,
I live in Essex. All the restaurants around me (like walking distance from my house) are all Bangladeshi. And they pull out the whole 'Balti' and 'Vindaloo' dishes (that actually aren't Indian).
If I were to drive 15-20 mins towards London,I'd end up in Ilford and East Ham. There,it's all owned by Pakistanis (except for Kanchan's Rasoi and Durga). Proper "Lahore Karahi" / "Lahore Kebab Hut" blah blah. All paki-fied.
I had a similar experience when I was in midlands. Wolverhampton - all desi. Go about 20-30 mins up the M6 and you end up in Stafford. All Bangladeshi there.
Phirbhi - I'm just going on what I see.
Arjun SM,
HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHA. Nice descreptive account of what went on between you and your gorrie ! You missed out details like what you were wearing, what she was wearing, what perfume she had on ... etc etc
Take Care Everybody,
Tarun
In a way, i don't blame ASM, but i don't agree with
inter - racial relationships.
as most hindugirls heads are SWOLLEN anyways.
Melissa,
I don't think you should be congratulating AS Malkhotra from what I read between like he is going to use his "goree" not stay with her for life. Hello this is the guy who was cursing hindu girls that went out with non-hindus.
Do you see the double standard now?
Tarun, the general conception is
Bangladeshi's own most rstaurants.
takeaways & sweethouses are mainly of N indian origin.
melissa why dont you ask A.S. Malhotra how serios he is about his "gorrie" before you contragtulate him.
arjun dhillon
malhotra: you really a pretencious little twit---i say say that because you make me laught and not thru malice.
arjun dhillon
what you expect sunny paji from a dumbass gorry
Melissa, so you call that dating?
Arjun, I think it's nice your dating a white girl~
I wish you two the best of luck!

You read it again.
It does not say "personal love life stories". Make your own page for that if you want so we won't have to read lovy-dovy nonesense.
Savraj, read the title!!!
Super Happy Fun Page! NO HATRED or POLITICS
ASM
What is your point? we don't wanna know about your love life so keep it to your self.
Allright, here's what happened at our date, with my "Gorrie". We at first tried some Indian food (which she's never tried before), and her eyes lit up. SHE LOVES THE STUFF LIKE IT WAS ECSTACY OR SOMETHING. Anyways, we went to the movie, "Refugee", and we were the only people in whole hall, which is so much better because some of the Indian people are so rude as to clap when they see a scene they like, or sing along with the song, or some other sundry. And I translated the whole thing for her, and even highlighted the whole movie for her at the end. She thinks Kareena Kapoor is gorgeous, and she definately has fell in love with Abhishek Bacchan, (although I don't think the guy is much). After the movie, we went drinking at a friend's house, and good thing that we were eating along with the drinks, because we both had a Calculus test this morning (Hint: Although I do divulge in binge-drinking, raving, clubbing, and occasional pot-smoking, I do take my studies very seriously and I always get good grades.) So we weren't drunk at all. So later we went to a club and raved for about 4 hours. And it was the most magical night I ever had with a girl ever!!! After that we just talked about politics, and for some reason, it turned to politics, and then Hemingway and the Lost Generation, and then Censorship, (Big Brother). After talking got too tiring for our voices, we gave a little "interaction" with our lips. She is unbelievable, and I'm not talking about lust-wise. Other girls I've talked, most of them have been for the sake of being bed-fellows, but she, maaaan!!! I have just fallen in LOVE!!!! BYE, IM GONE TO CALL HER NOW, AND BLOW AWAY MY $90 ALLOWANCE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!!!!!!!!
Cooljatt and Sarb,
Nah - it ain't South Indian food. South Indian food is like dosa and idli and stuff like that. (Personally, I find it really bland).
In gora areas (ie,most of the country) the restaurant business is monopolised by Bangladeshis.
In Asian areas,it's mostly Pakistanis who run these restaurants. There are Lahore Karahis/Lahore Kebab Houses eveywhere ! The ones owned by hindus/sikhs are really rich 'cos they cater for non-halal eating people. Example is Jeet Oberoi who owns Balti World and ShehanShah in Southall. Man has ££££££ !
No,it used to be South Indian like vindaloo or Madras but its the N.Indian like Punjabi tandoori and Balti cooking thats taken off and took over in Britain like for the last 20/30 years. In every aspect of life, from the top down.
S.Indian cooking gets a very small lookin like English cooking now.
In ENGLAND, they like SOUTH indian food.
Most takeaways in the Midlands are South indian or
muslim.
Cooljat yaar phir ki hoya. We are all using white man boli here aren't we?! But they love our Punjabi food!! I heard the in England Punjabi food is the most craved?!
WHITE BOYS music
what is the world coming too, hahahahahahaha
'Another Brick in the Wall' is the only one Ive heard but it was and always has been me and my mates anthem when alienated by our studies!
Have any of you heard 'The Complete' Stone Roses or 'Achtung Baby'/'Zooropa' by U2.I strongly recommend them. They will grow on you, believe me!And 'Rooster' by Alice in Chains!ha ha haaa!
Pink Floyd is awesome, especially some of thier more recent stuff (1990's), I can't remember the name of the album. There music is so intense and captivating. ASM so you really do know how to relax! Good luck with your girlfriend!
So many problems going on everywhere. MAn, that sucks. I'm just here talking with you fine people, drinking a Vodka, and have a case of Corona's right next to me, with a lemon wedge for each one, listening to Pink Floyd, and later I'm gonna meet my girl to watch "Refugee". She's white, but she wants to see an Indian movie so bad that I just gave in. I'll fill you people in the details.
Taj, hi, I hear the Raisin Industry in the Fresno Area is falling for the next couple years and many folks will go bankrupt. It is a truly sad affair, however, next year or the following is the time to buy. I suspect the prices may fall as low as $7000-$8000 acre and the banks will be giving away loans! So you can be the Jat you want to be.
Ridwan
London is....'pretty'!My my.
Well th- at - is your opinion and you are entitled to it.I guess you are fed up with Ohio, and the feelings mutual on London.I know it is my dream to live on an American style ranch/farm,raise livestock, grow some crops etc.Just get some nature/greenery in there.I could be a real Jatt!
Living in London is expensive and very stressful,so much so you are prone to a bad mood - at - times and everything is so tight and narrow, but hey it is kicking in many respects, you can have a wonderful social life,go out and have a laff! There are masses of Indians in big crews of friends all over,so you dont get lost on 'what to do today'!Everyone knows everyone!
Now tell me why move to an area with little or no Indians/Asians?
I can tell the American Indian Asians are filthy rich, esp. Gujaratis,Punjabis and Tamils.
Do you guys in US and Canada socialise much?
I know I have asked this question many times.Im having a hard time digesting th- at - you cannot just go out and get some Indian delicacy like we do here,th- at - its not so easy as everything is spaced out, people tend to their own.My friend went to Surrey,BC a few months ago and he said 'lovely country, pity about the life though,it pretty dead up there'.- at - Uni,these Canadian guys I knew would moan about how 'boring' Canada was.I do know there was an attempt by the govt. there to cut down on the amount of things American, like TV,soaps etc. and get Canadians to be proud of being Canadian again.
Everywhere you turn in London, there is going to be an Indian, and a restaurant,a jewellery shop, dress shop and so on.Like I walk out of my house and in 5 minutes Im there - at - the local Indian eaterie.I loooooooove gobi walle pronte, dehin, nimbu da achar, slice of onions, thathi chaa, and some gujrela...ai hai!
The other day I was running through the pages of an Asian magazine, and on this page they display photos of club events, people dancing etc.As I was looking - at - the photos from one gig,I did not notice anything particular and passed it off as something from London again....until I saw it said Toronto,Canada.I was so shocked! It looked so London when I saw it again, ugly tarted up girls, crummy looking munde with designer beards, macho poses etc. These gigs are a bad idea for the breeding ground of all kinds of kutt punna they promote.
Taj,
are you kidding? I love London UK. I think its much prettier and better than freezing cold ohio.
I think the only good thing about rural ohio is that it has rolling hills, amish people, and you can go 100mph on the country roads, no cops care. They taped an acura and oldsmobile commercial here since the scenery of rolling hills and farms was good for a car company. but come on, living in a town of 8,000, it drives me absolutely nuts~!
Mormons were based in ohio, now theyre in Utah.
I have lots of mormon friends, theyre very kind to me, and they have a new temple in columbus that is covered in marble.
Melissa,
I know where Newark is, but its 20 minutes on the other side of columbus. Im in London Ohio, which is the direction of Dayton.
HEY DOES NEBODY HERE LIKE GURDAS MANN?
guess what ppl
2day is my birthday and i am so happppppppppppppppyyyyyy.
neways
ta ta and peace
I think alot of Mormons ministers are too pushy, his father is one I think..well I know he works at the church.. and they wont' accept my friend because she wont' convert.
Hey Ridwan..My hole entire family is living in Ohio..in a town about 20 mins from Columbus..called Newark..fimilar with this town?.. What about Mormons?.. My best friend in ingaged to a Mormon..they are very weathly and think they are better then everyone else!!...
Taj
The Mormons mainly live in Utha and the surrounding states. I think they moved there from Ohio etc. They are very rich people and they have just made a multimillion dollar temple here in Mass (about 40 mins from Boston). Just saw it on TV and it looks like a palace.
With great respect to thier religios belief their missonaries can be very annoying. At least that is what I have found out. This guy read the names on my mail box and saw an opportunity to turn a heathen into christian. I tried to be polite but the guy kept on showing up at my house every 3 months till I told him to read about Sikhism gave him few books on sikhism and told him to go to Sikhnet.com to read the GGS. I especially told him to read about Guru Gobind Singh's Sons and then tell me how their sacrifice for freedom of religion was any different than Jesus's sacrifice. Well guess what now he hasn't been back for a year.
I live near both.
I live in Thurrock,Essex - all of 15 minutes from Ilford (Asian area). 5 minutes from Lakeside (big shopping area). 20 minutes from Bluewaters (across the Dartford Tunnel in Kent).
The beach (Southend) is about 1/2 hour to 45 mins away.
And there's a lot of greenery about.
Tarun
what u on about taj.theres beautiful country here.i live in the country---not on a farm but theres farms all around.i live in an village with a mix of old renovated and modern houses.theres a very pretty old english village near to me but its too old english for me.those black and white timber frame houses.nice to look at for a few minutes but not to live in.i seen those american farms and the scenery is pretty dismal.dont know y.seem really flat and isolated, while here u r still within reach of the town and city and the villages r compact and on the outskirts.the farms r neat and rolling and easier on the eye and nerves too.
i live in a outlying village suburb, near to a big town.farms all around .green, green grass, trees and birds chirping.get eggs and vegies from the local farmers---discuss farming methods.
thats y i was having a fit about southall way.london is the pits.a fair few asians live here mainly punjabis.
we're near to the city where theres a great indian eaterie area and all these seem to be run by west punjabis---tandoorie and balti styles.make u anything while u watch---fresh and reasobale price and brilliant taste!sunday morning breakfast, they do parathas, plain or vegie/lamb filled with yogurt and chutney and tea.or samosa with chaana and gajjar halwa and tea.then u can go off and do a shop for the latest fashions from delhi or pak(this is my wife's pastime!) and come back for lunch.u name it,its on the menu.
faluda--is a favorite .
Well Ridwan you really should not complain as I live in London,a classic industrial wasteland,a concrete jungle. The only thing you see here is buildings, roads, cars and then some. And the English and their bloody selfrighteous poncy ways. You should be lucky to be near farms, pastoral greens,animals/wildlife/livestock,as there is nothing as natural as that here,in terms of environment, countryside, scenery, areas of outstanding beauty. You would be lucky to see bloody sheep once in a lifetime.I remember when I was small, our school would take us on trips to conservation areas eg.farms, where there are trees, wildlife, parks,GRASS!
BTW are the Mormons(US sect) from Ohio?Tell me a little about them.
WHO LIKES GURDAS MANNNNNNNNNNNN?
I really cant describe pensit-e-khub. It kinda like a noodly creation that has no sauce. Barufaab is a cold drink floavored with lemon and orange, and a little citrus fruit ony found in Pakistani mountains and Kashmir.
Is anyone here in Ohio? I live a little rural town, and im the only central asian or south asian there is. I live by dayton which is full of arabs, and columbus, which is full of tamils. i think ive met one Kashmiri and Pashto speaker here. The rest are south indians. Other than that, this place only has farms, farms, and more farms.
Tarun,
My friends from High School who went there were all white. So I'm no authority on that area. But in general we have tons of Indian people going to Boston Schools. Here in my Uni everywhere I look I see Indians (but not many Punjabis).
I think your friend might be telling the truth if he is going out with Gujju girls ( we have tons of Gujjus here most of them act like gorras though)
Savraj,
A good friend of mine, from Panjab, he goes there, that's all.
Do a lot of Indian people go there ? Because he's always boasting about "new girlfriends" he gets ... tell me,so I know if I can catch him out with all his 'jhooti' tales.
Thanks,
Tarun
All this business about food is making hungry, the best pakastani food to eat is:
Lamb karai (Hot)
The Typical Pakastani breakfast "Protah teh niboo achar)eemmmmm!!!!!

I know but yarr there is something different about desi amroods. The remind me of chilhood and happy days. Has anyone eaten the kalle sholeys they give out during gurpurabs especially during Guru Arjun Dev Ji's Saheedi Din, man they are delicious with serbet.
savraj,
Amrood da ras mil janda hai aj kal. You can buy Guava Nectar (Juice) nowadays. It's available everywhere here in California.
Ash
How about amrood (Guava). I love the ones with pink interior. Oh I miss amrood, we don't get them here in boston. Nor karele or bhindi toori
I don't know ahout you guys, but I don't that anything in the world tastes better than a mango.
Ridwan
What in the world is Pensitekhub and barufaab?
Has anyone tried Amritsar De rice Phaparhs with imli de sauce. Man they are good. How about Ganne de ras and Ganne de ras walle rice. Garm-Garm Gur and Shakar.
Anyone tried Pensitekhub? MMM, you can find that all over Pakistan and Kashmir, but ive never seen a pensitekhub stall anywhere in India. Ive also never seen a barufaab seller in India, but northern Pakistan is loaded with them.
sholay and pattoray - with umb de chutney and dein (yogurt) mmmmmmmm......
meat dish - of course good old buckraa!!! chicken tikka! and of course a small plate of chopped onions on the side!!!
and to top all of this some RUSS MALAI! :)
Peace-
we have the best indian eateries in the world in britain.
mancester has the curry mile.
birmingham-the balti belt
london has more than the whole of delhi and bombay.
its a billions pound earner for asians.
every type of kulfi, lassi,u can, dish u can name.
its the biggest industry here beating iron or manufacturing in turnover.
Has anyone tried somosas with tamrindi sauce? I think its even better than Samosa and catsup:) Oh yea, and has anyone tried Chicken Tikka with and odd array of spices? I remember a restaurant in Maisooma, Srinagar that had the best Tikkas in the world, and afterwards, the elderly mother of the owner would give us Kulfi sticks while we played Soccer. That was good, now if only i could get Lahori Kulfi in America!
Cooljat, come now yaar don't spoil it. Everyone is having a little (long over due) fun. The other threads are very stressful so I really like this one. Peace.
someone created this snack messageboard
what do you get - loads of indian girls coming on
telling us what they like eating.
after reading your comments - im not surprised that
you walk around with the Biggest bottoms.
Gulab Jamuns in India...mmmmmm
Somasa with ketchup..yep, I can do that!
But what I really love and most people
hate....Besan (the gooey type) yuuuummyy!!!
For all you desis, you guys must have tried Shaashiya or Malaangee. Barbecued Sour Mangoes and onions!
Punjabi kuri I'm with you! Samosas and kitchup!!!
Gajrela is awesome and good for the eyes (carrots that is). It's really great for the students living away from home.
Try some gajrela. And watch your weight.
oh yeah,
I cant stand Ladhoo, Gulaab Jaaman, Jalebie, and pakoras! EEW~!
Too sweet are the first 4, and the last is just really nasty to me.
Savraj,
Afghans have lots of Almonds, melons, and apples, even better than the Kashmiri versions grown at lower altitudes.
I dont know what samia is.
One time i was in Karachi, and had some masalha machli at a sea-side restaurant at sunset. It was very good, and the view wasnt so bad!
has anyone had maanchey? I love that stuff, but im not sure if its Persian or Indian.
Ahh, and who can forget the Kashmiri Lotus stems in Saalan? Kashmiri food isnt spicy, and its so nice and aromatic, though I think we could lay off the saffron.
I could remember me playing soccer with my kangr under my pheran and having some meat samosas resting over the kangr.
( A Kangr is a type of portable stove/heater covered with wicker. A Pheran is that loose big shawl-type thing worn by Kashmiris.)
now you all r talking bout food. man u ppl make me laugh.
neways i enjoy eating jelabia and kheer.
chalo
tuhada saab da rab rakha
PAKHORAS AND KHEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love samosa... but i have acquired a bad habit which is eating them with ketchup...

Anybody like chum-chums ? (yellow,sugary stuff)
Tarun
PS: Ridwan, how about some semia ?
Hey Kheer is good with lots of almonds in it.
Ridwan, do Afgans still harvest almonds? I read somewhere Kabul is beautiful around the time when the almond trees flower.
Other favorite food: Ras Gullae, Samoosa with spicey shooley and Gol Gappes.
