Hello,
This is from bible with the same meaning of a Bahu poetry.I need this in persian language.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way.
That leadeth to destruction…and strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it----“
I also need the bahu's original poetry, which is in english as follows:-'
"the archways of religion are grand,
the path which leads to God is small,
walk along it secretly,
stealing away from all priests"
can this site offer me the same?

AOA REGARDING A USER WHO WANTS TO KNOW ABT NAME OF HAZRAT SULTAN BAHU (RA).HIS NAME WAS PROPOSED BY HIS HOLY MOTHER BIBI RASTI(RA) AND WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL IN OUR SPEECH AND WE SHOULD PAY RESPECT TO THIS MOST BEAUTIFUL AND HUMBLE MURSHID (RA)
Salams ..
Regarding name of sultan bahu ...well it is from Allahs name "Wahab" ...Sultan bahu wrote this in reverse and got name BAHU .. at first i was confused why bahu would do that because i thought it would be bayadbi to write one of Rabs names backwards but understood his intention ...as in our faith "Actions r judged by intentions" and bahus intention was pure ...

BAHU means with ALLAH, i think this is an arabic word.
And Bait # 46 of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu and Bulleh Shah's kafi r almost same, y? cause both of them r Arif(aashiq's of ALLAH and his messanger Sallallaho aleyhe wasallam). The way of thinking was same, only metter Hazrat Sultan Bahu is higher then him.
What a pleasure to discover this site. Kafi arse se talaash thi iski. Some years ago, I heard a tape of Sultan Bahu's kalaam sung by a very haunting and melodious voice, but since it was a copy, I was never able to find out who the singer was. Inspite of that I enjoyed listening to the deeply spiritual message. I feel that it does not matter who says what, in which language, if the message touches your heart and soul, that is what you are ready for. As Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sang (I don't know who wrote the lyrics) in Gorakh Dhanda - 'jiskee pahunch jahaan tak, uske liye wahin par tu'. As we journey on, we are all at different places at different times. Should our paths cross and our lives be touched with each other's words, let us thank the Almighty for bringing that experience and journey on.... for who knows whose lives we will touch.

Abayat # 4
Allah sahee keetose jis dam,
Chamkiaa ishq agohaan hoo.
Raat dihaan da taa tikhere,
Kare agohaan sohaan hoo.
Andar bhaaheen, andar baalan,
Andar de wich dhoohaan hoo.
Shah rag theen Rabb nerhe laddhaa,
Ishq keeta jad soohan hoo.
The moment I realized the oneness of God,
The flame of his love shone within, to lead me on.
Constantly it burns in my heart with intense heat,
Revealing the mysteries long my path.
This fire of love burns inside me with no smoke,
Fuelled by my intense longing for the beloved.
Following the Royal Vein*,
I found the lord close by.
My love has brought me face to face with him.
* The royal vein or Shah Rag is the central current in the subtle body, starting from the eye center and leading up to the highest spiritual regions. It is located and followed by means of the spiritual practice taught by a perfect master. The Hindu Mystics call is sushmana or sukhmana nadi. It is the Royal Highway to the court of the lord. It is not to be confused with the sushmana nadi of the yogis, which runs up the spinal column.

Abayat # 5
Alif alast suniaa dil mere,

Hubb watan dee ghalib hoee,
Hik pal saun na dendee hoo.
Qaihar pave is raahazan duneeaa,
Haqq daa raah marendee hoo.
Ashiq mool qabool na Bahoo,
Zaaro zaar ruvendee hoo.
When, at the time of creation God separated me from himself, I heard him say, “Am I not your god”? *
“Indeed you are”, cried my soul, reassured.
Since then has my heart flowered with the inner urge to return Home,
Giving me not a moment of calm here on earth.#
May doom strike this world!
It robs the soul on their way to God. - at -
The world has never accepted his lovers, O Bahoo;
They are persecuted and left to cry in pain.
* According to the Qur’an, God created souls and decided to send them down to inhabit the creation. When he saw them in torment at the prospect of their separation from Him, He reassured them by asking, “Am I not your God?” meaning that he was not deserting them for good, and that He would call them back.
# My note. Puri and Khak say rest but Saun literally is to sleep.

Abayat #3
Alif-aihad jad ditte wikhaalee,
az khud hoiaa faanee hoo.
Qurb, wisaal, maqaam na manzil,
na uth jism na jaanee hoo.
Na uth ishq muhabbat kaaee,
na uth kaun makaanee hoo.
Aino-ain theeose Bahoo,
sirr wahadat subhaanee hoo.
When the one Lord revealed himself to me,
I lost myself in Him.
Now there is no longer a jouirney to undertake,
no longer a destination to reach.
Love, attachment, my body and soul and even the very limits of time and space have all droped from my conciousness.
My separate self has merged in the Whole:
in that, O Bahoo, lies the secret of the unity that is God!

You have read the name of God over and over,
You have stored the holy Koran in your memory,
But this has still not unveiled the hidden mystery.
Instead, your learnign and scholarship haves sharpened your greed for wordly things.
None of the countless books you have read in your life has destroyed your brutal ego.
Indeed, none but the saints can kill this inner thief,
for it ravages the very house for in which it lives.
Abayat #1
Alif Allah Chambe Dee Bootee,

Jeeve Murshid Kamil Bahoo,

My Master has planted in my heart the jasmine of Allah's name.
Both my denial that the creation is real and my embrasing of Godm theonly reality, have nourished the seedling down to its core.
When the buds of mystery unfolded into the blossoms of revelation, my entire being was filled with God's fragrance.
May the perfect Master who planted this jasmine in my heart ever be blessed. O Bahoo!

Tara Jee,
You are right, but name of Bahu (Sultan Bahu) is pronounced as 'BAHOOO' which is a different word than what you are talking. In Punjabi (at least what is spoken in Lahore)the daughter-in-law is called, 'Noonh'.

To Nisar Khan
In Hindi and Punjabi the meaning of Bahu is Daughter in law. I am not sure of sanskrit.
In Punjabi, Hindi and Sanskrit languages, the meanings of Bahu are :
Arm, Strength, The one who has right.
It also contains the meanings of, One who helps and gives support.
In Persian language - the meanings of Bahu are : The one who remains with God.

Bains Sahib,
Thank you so much for your response. I think its hard to argue who the better poet was when comparing Sufis and even Gurus for that matter. Baba Sultan Bahu sat down and wrote his Baits and books while Baba Bulleh Shah sang his kafis while dancing in ecstacy in the streets of Kasur. I think we need to look at each poet-saint in their context. As we know many of Guru Nanak's bani is that while he preached to the masses where as many Gurus sat down and wrote their verses. I don't know how fair it is to compare these masters when their poetry had very different births.
I love the Bait you posted. My question is this. From what I have read ALL of Baba Sultan Bahu's baits end in "Hoo". It was his trade mark. Any comments on this?
Thanks
p.s. i will e-mail soon
hi dirt.
thank you for ur concern. firstly bahu is a better poet than bulleh shah , at the same time he is very difficult to sing like bulleh shah.thirdly not too many people know his name.nusrat himself was a sort of sufi.he was very capable music director and probably the best quawal.he had the feeling where he can touch the human mind.so he always picked up the stenzas from all over and mixed them up and sang.it is always well appreciated on the name of bulleh shah.so he did.the writing u say is mainly bulleh shah but some words are from bahu as well.he always did that.by the way how how was mine the one you saw.thanks tell me ur name send me e mail.

Bains Sahib,
Again I come to you with a question on Sufism. From reading "Sultan Bahu" by J.R. Puri and K.S. Khak I noticed that bait # 46 sounds very much like a kafi of Baba Bulleh Shah. Baba Bulleh Shah was 11 when Baba Sultan Bahu passed away. Could it be that Shahen Shah e Qawaali Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib says "Bulleh Shah" by accident in one of his Qawwalis or could it be because (Which i think is more likely) Baba Bulleh Shah had studied the works of Baba Sultan Bahu and Baba Shah Hussein and therefore he had borrowed some ideas from them along with other saints?
Tasbeeh pheere dil na phiriaa,
kee laina is parh ke hoo.
Parhihia ilam, abad na sikhiaa,
kee laina tis parh ke hoo.
Chilla kattiaa, kujh na khattiaa,
kee liaa chille varh ke hoo.
Jaag binaan dudh jamde naaheen,
laal hovan karh karh ke hoo.
This sounds very much like a kafi attributed to baba Bulleh Shah.
Sir Tey Topi, par neeath khoti.
Lehna ki topi sir tarkey?
Tasbeeh firi par dil na firiah.
Lehna ki tasbeeh hath farke?
Chilay kithey par rabb na miliya.
Lehna ki chilian which varke?
Bulleya jaag bina dudh nahin jamda,
Phaven lal hove kard kard ke.
tere andar rab da wasa, maar le jhati apne andar
chhup ke pia nazara vekhe, uthe uh ne paaiea mandir
javen saadhaan magre aiven, bane firan jo masat klundr
man da deeva baal zara, ho jasi chaanan dil andar
eh tan rab sachhe dee baadi, viche baag bagiche lagde
viche fal fool te meve viche, viche kooja misri sajde
viche kibla kaba ohde, viche ganga jamna wagde
kamil murshid milia tenu, paloo pa kar ohde sajde
andar toon hain bahar toon ,das hor kithe firan labhda
akh fadkaan toon age aaven, hor kise karan kieon sajda
chete aa aa jee tadfaven, tere baajhon jee nahi lagda
bana le aadat bane ibaadat, kar shukria sache rab da
padh padh granth katebaan mud mud, aalm fazil hoiea
dasm dasondh khiraatan vande man fir bhe shudh na hoia
tarle kadhe mathe ragde, man shartaan mangan ch khoiea
